The last time I was a truely happy Rockets fan was right after the second World Championship! That Team was probably the best ever. So much character, so much talent, and yet so humble....wow...i long for those days again....

Around the last T-Wolves game I really thought they had turned a corner and while not becoming a dominant team was at least on the way to being a consistently good team.

Since I don't live in Houston now or have cable I don't get to see them much so I still look forward to seeing them when I can.

Phoenix game last year. Then I got even happier 20 games into this season, because I could see what JVG was doing for the team.

Well, I'm "excited" to watch the Rockets too, even during the past lottery years. But it's been a while since I've been "completely happy" with the play of the Rockets lineup, the question been posed on this thread.

Back in the championship days, I'd be amazed at every Rockets loss, because I feel they're good enough to win every single game, no matter who they play. There was a sense of confidence. But now, I'm not even confident when the Rockets play lottery teams. I watch for signs that the team can come together and become a championship caliber team.

beating Utah in Game 3 of the 1998 playoffs, and them dominating them in the first qtr of game 4 with the crowd absolutely nuts, that was the last time I was real real happy.

man, I may pop in that tape right now.

The only year that I wasn't optimistic was Francis's rookie year.

Before that we were always championship contenders, even if we fell short (Malone bearhug, Pippen TO).

Then we lost pippen and got nothing back, Hakeem was aging and we didn't have a good cast around the team. No one knew how good Francis was.

Francis second year, we won ROY, signed Mo T (who was a sought after FA at that time), and just barely miss the playoffs so I was happy the whole year except the end.

Francis third year, we were young team and we just barely missed the playoffs they year before, we were sure to make it. Then Francis and Mo went down, and we had no chance. Very happy in the beginning but start to get sad near the end.

Fourth year, everyone's healthy, and o yeah, we got that 7'5 Chinese dude. Needless to say, optimism/joy everywhere until the Mr. Mean messed everything up.

Fifth year, JVG, new coach, new philosophy. Fairly decent record, I'm happy to be a Rockets fan and hope the season ends with atleast a playoff birth.

for the last couple of years its always seemed like 'next season' will be our turn to dominate and by the end of that season all we seem to get is another season of frustration and inconsitency. The frustrating part is when we are good, we are really good, and we we are bad we really stink it up.

I am happy whenever the Rockets wins, no matter how ugly it is. I am not unhappy, however, when they lost, since there is always the next game to look forward to. I am happy when I get to watch the PBP without being disturbed by my co-workers in the office...

Finally I am a happy Rockets fan - I finally reached 80 posts on this BBS! I look forward to post something meaningful one of these days...
