Yes, I would say if the Rockets were in the top 3 it is fixed... Just like it was for Cha and Orl... I am a Rockets fan, but I do try to be as objective as possible... I will admit that I am happy that the Bulls got screwed... ------------------ "Awesome baby!" Dick Vitale
The NBA is crooked... They need to do away with the lottery and just go by records... Teams tank anyway, in order to get more balls... The whole Lotto idea was because people felt the Rockets tanked to get Olajuwon... Well, if Olajuwon came 10 years later, and the Rockets sucked as bad as they did, the Rockets would have "tanked" just as much to get the highest chance of landing Dream... The lotto is the NBA's way of fixing things up the way they want to... ------------------ "Awesome baby!" Dick Vitale
Yes, I would say if the Rockets were in the top 3 it is fixed... Just like it was for Cha and Orl... What teams winning would have made it NOT fixed, in your opinion? ------------------ http://www.swirve.com ... more fun than a barrel full of monkeys and midgets.
Washington being the lottery didn't piss me off, but Washington being #1 did... Since I hate the lotto, I would say the 3 worst teams should have won... #1 Chi #2 GS #3 Was ------------------ "Awesome baby!" Dick Vitale
So you think that every lottery that the NBA has had to this day has been fixed? ------------------ I refuse to use smiley's in my posts, you'll just have to figure out how serious I am on your own...
Let me see, the Bulls, Wizards, and Warriors are the Top 3 teams to get the top pick, only 2 of those teams are in the Top 3, and the one that wins happens to be Washington and happened to be run by Michael Jordan, and it's fixed!? Some of you guys carry this conspiracy theory to far. Washington sucked last year. They SUCKED! They had one of the worst teams I have ever seen and finished with a god awful record after cutting their starting PG and trading their star PF at mid-season, and having their starting 2-guard injured a good part of the season and having no bench or go-to guy. You tell me why they shouldn't have been the #1 pick!? ------------------ See the three, be the three. [This message has been edited by RocksMillenium (edited May 20, 2001).]
Didn't Krause look like he had just sucked on a lemon? ------------------ [This message has been edited by Hottoddie (edited May 20, 2001).]
yup he did. CD on the other hand just showed a little disappointment. But on CD's part, it couldn't get any worse. But Krause. After thinking he'd gotten the number one pick ends up with the 4th. He got screwed last year also. Now again this year. That really sucks for him doesn't it? ------------------
He has no one to blame but his own stupid self. ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. The Lord was with the Raptors. You know the Knicks like to talk so much about religion, but I think the Lord was a Raptor fan."
Since I hate the lotto, I would say the 3 worst teams should have won... #1 Chi #2 GS #3 Was So the majority of the possible outcomes -- given the rules and percentages were laid out beforehand -- would have meant the lottery is "rigged" in your opinion? Great, adds tons of credibility to your argument. ------------------ http://www.swirve.com ... more fun than a barrel full of monkeys and midgets.
The '85 lottery was fixed. To suspect any other one has been fixed as well is not unreasonable. ------------------ Rock Rock Til You Drop
I don't know that i necessarily feel that the lottery is rigged. However, seeing washington win the top pick this year certainly didn't vanquish any of my own conspiracy theories. Personally, i would've been satisfied seeing ANY team but the bullets get the top pick, even if they landed a pick in the top 3. But this just feels suspicious to me, and if someone wants to make an argument about atlanta landing a pick as a cover up, i might even be willing to grant that some credence. Anyway, i can't wait for MJ to gather that team of retirement home dream teamers, and watch them get PASTED by all the young studs like kobe and iverson. The only thing better would be to move that team of dinosaurs down to florida or arizona so they can retreat to a game of bingo or shuffleboard after each loss.... ------------------ "I think what I'm supposed to say is, 'I'm out.'"
Clutch said right before the lottery started that if Washington gets the 1st pick, the lottery is rigged. I laughed and agreed. I was screaming "fixed" as well when they ended up getting the 1st pick. But then I looked at the percentages. Heck, they had the 3rd best chance of any team to get that pick. Interestingly enough, the 3rd best team had basically an equal shot of getting the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd pick. The chance of them getting the 1st pick was only about 5% less than the team with the worst record. So what does all this mean? If this draft was rigged, you can't tell it was rigged simply because Washington got the first pick. I still hate David Stern, though. ------------------ NBA Draft Lottery is May 20th. Start praying now.
I knew it. SA got Duncan because Stern thought SA would be a dynasty. Yes, I think the lotto is rigged. ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? Was that the Ewing lottery ? I'm beginning to think the NBA should just get rid of it. ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? when did they start using the loto system? ------------------ ~John~ Help keep the obsessed thread alive post the reasons why you are an obsessed Rockets fan by clicking here
So if it was rigged, then it's been the NBA all along, that's been behind the conspiracy to keep the Clippers as the official/unofficial NBA farm team. You guys ought to give this a rest. Don't you need to go check up on what they're doing at Roswell? ------------------
Since there's a representative from each lottery team present when the balls are drawn, are you guys claiming that all 13 teams (including Houston) were in on a fix? ------------------
I love these conspiracies! No, I don't think the Wizards would have been happier with the third pick rather than the first, but we all know that, more and more, fewer and fewer rookies have an impact on the league. If you want to sniff out conspiracies, try watching the free agent movements. That is a much more significantly impactful even. If Webber ends up in Washington, I will race to this board. Anyone see the X-files season finale? No David Stern, huh? ------------------ Time is a great teacher-- only problem is it kills all its pupils.
