I saw plenty of Jordan when he was killing teams. Far too much. I'm a huge fan of James, but as great as he is, it's totally unfair to him to make this kind of comparison to Jordan when he's yet to win a title. Let James win a championship or two or three, and then let's talk. You went to a lot of trouble creating that OP, OP, and a tip of the hat to you, but you wasted your time. Harden just ain't there. Maybe someday, and very possibly maybe never. It was a different game, and it sure as hell isn't harder today, for Harden or anyone else.

Like Jordan, hand check would not have worked against Harden.

Both too big and too strong.

This thread would’ve been a nice debate actually if OP showed less bias, he didn’t pick sides, stopped his arrogant approach with this ‘I’ve watched every game’ business and a more level-headed attitude towards people who think MJ faced tougher defenders.

The lack of respect and condescending tone by the OP doesn’t suit this thread or a Canadian for that matter. Ow well, moving on. @Batman Jones I did and he responded that MJ didn’t face Max that often yet has Cooper and Nate McMillan in there.

It’s unfortunate he did not present a clear and unbiased opening statement, although it would’ve just masked his point of this thread which is not to debate, but to convince people who think MJ was better that MJ in his view was facing weaker defense, thus that Harden has a case as a better scorer.

Yes, the players were shorter back in the days, they were also crazier and brought out the Pistons on Defense.

We also see some lazy Defense these days that we would not have seen as much in that era.

You cant 1v1 Harden in any era. Harden would command 5vs1 if he was playing in Jordan time. His range is too deadly.

100% on point. The issue with this debate will always be that while you're still talking Basketball the rules are completely different. One defense was designed to pack the paint and physically funnel players into HOF big men the other is all about rotations, switching and containment. Both players would absolutely adapt but the physical play of Jordan's era would take a toll on Harden where the guard oriented spread floor play of now would benefit MJ greatly.

moral victory goes to harden. He donated money to the Bahamas before the worst Hurricane in the country's history. James "bad news" harden is a fitting nick name!

I think harden ducked fiba cup out of fear of international pressure and he didn't want to face Giannis in a head to head. My suspicions will definitely be true if Harden completely ducks the 2020 Olympics altogether!

    Harden learning to "duck" Giannis!

You lost credibility for me when you said harden is the better offensive player.

Would Harden survive getting fouled 6 times in one play?

Jordan faced tougher defenders than James because James never had to play against this man.

lol, u act like Harden isn’t 1 of the strongest guards the league has ever seen

A bunch of dudes much smaller than him and far less skilled survived it, but it’s a question of if whether Harden could?

Harden would have these dudes’ ankles twisting and turning in ways they never even knew were possible
