When was the last time you were completely happy with the Rockets lineup and felt confident they could make it to the playoffs? I mean the last time you were really excited about the team and couldn't wait to get home to watch the game because you just knew we would kick ass because you had faith in all the guys out there on the court and knew we would play like a team?

The year we traded for Barkley. After that year, it's been a pretty bumpy ride.

If it's just making the playoffs, then this year.

Since most people appear to be fed up with the team I'm sure there is a strong chance we will be making plenty of trades at the end of the season. I wonder what it was about the chemistry that made it work and if we can try and build to that formula?

I guess maybe we fans should be realistic and modify our perspectives. They are not going to be championship contenders very soon. The team is not that winning team with Dream. We should look for improvement and potential. With Ming's progress, roasters stablization, if we make the playoffs this year, we should be happy, or at least happier than the past 4 years. One can never be completely happy. Look at the Lakers fans, they are still arguing about Shaq or Kobe won them 3 rings. I guess even if the Rockets win the championship this year, some of the fans will certainly still argue about Steve's or Yao's team it is.

I don't even care about playoffs...I care about seeing the team playing the right way.

Trusting each other, passing the ball, helping on defense and hustling night in and night out.

They are still a LONG LONG way from there.

1995. (team that got swepted by the Sonics)

I got excited about the 1996 & 1997 teams but I also saw their weaknesses from early on. It still kills me they didn't get Derrick Harper or Terry Porter (or another vet all around 1) to play with the 1996 team--worst case scenario for that team would have been a championship loss to the Bulls.

Every team does that is a winning team, because it's a team sport. Sadly, as obvious and simple as it is, not many teams can do that in the league now.

    YEP!

But, I was happy when we traded for Francis and EG :)( ) and when we drafted Yao!

Oh, and every time we beat the Jazz and Lakers!

1999 , i was optimistic and hoped that they would have a great chance to go further deep into the playoff, with hakeem, charles, and scottie but the lakers beat us up in 4.

Was that before or after the Jack Daniel? ;)

Yes, rooting for the Rox has not always been easy, especially the past few years but I have to say that I am the eternal optimist. I always find silverlining in every Rox loss. :D

So count me as one happy Rox fan.

I always look forward to watching the Rockets play regardless of their record even during the Rockets 15(?) game losing streak a few years back, I still dont think I missed a second.

It's been a while since I've had faith that the Rockets had a chance to win it all; I'd say it was the lockout season when we had Pippen, Dream and Charles. Ever since than I thought we were maybe an 8 seed if the team comes together.

When Juugie had less than SEVEN threads on page one of the BBS! :D Actually, about 5 to 6 years ago. The "Francis Era" has been excruciatingly painful. Even when he could make a basket he made so many fundamental mistakes in games it usually cancelled out his 20+pt. performance. I can honestly say, that given the opportunity to see any player in the NBA play, Francis would be at the bottom of my list. As a hardcore Rockets fan this has been a nightmare. I love the Rockets, but watching Francis play makes me nuts. When and if he is traded, it will be one my happiest Rocket's moments.
