Not really. What I wanted was to move Clowney before the draft for draft picks and then use those, combined with the excess of cap room to really revamp this roster. That would have all required a competent GM. Instead, we missed out on a great opportunity to improve this team and blew an off-season and potentially a season of a really good, young quarterback on a rookie contract. Oh well, I guess there's always next year and next off-season. Hopefully we'll have a ton of cap, a new coach and a new gm.
I hope there are reporters with balls that will ask O'Brien or Cal to answer the critics. Mainly, why not just keep Clowney for the year and talk contract later. He obviously wanted to stay. Sadly, the reporter with the most balls may be the girl from ESPN. I hope Obrien's first interview, someone just stands up and says, "What the f***?"
All those people who didn't want Clowney signed? You got your wish. I wanted Clowney signed......but hey...it is what is.
And you pay half of Clowney's salary for this year. Can we fail physicals of Mingo or Martin, and rescind this trade?
Seriously? Clowney has been NOTHING in Seattle. Mercilus has been GREAT without Clowney. Getting on BoB for the OFFENSE, but Clowney not being here? No.
Umm he wanted to get rid of Clowney for jack sht. Sht Gm and a sht coach. keep defending the man some more BoB defender. Let us know when u r ready to eat crow, but until then keep defending every sht thing this coach does.
Where i'm always at. I don't make sht threads like u, but i consistently point out our shtty hc shortcoming. Don't act like I wasn't on here even when we win.
Or you are just making noise cause Clowney actually did something good, but he has SUCKED this season. Mercilus has been a STUD, EVERY WEEK.
Talking about production on the field is a red herring, always has been. People are upset (still) because our GM completely botched the situation and got an order of magnitude less in trade than he should have. That's it. You can argue whatever else you want. Nobody can understand things for you.
No ones complaining about the production, its more of the assets we received for clowney. Our sht coach was being petty so he got rid of clowney and how it contributes to the team, its pretty simple BoB defender.
Um...then u Blame Brian Gaine. He was the GM when Clowney's value would have been the highest. He didn't trade him. BoB did what he did after Clowney refused to be traded to Miami. Yes, BoB wanted him gone at that point. I don't think the Texans ever go an offer better than a 3rd rounder for Clowney.
Then you simply don't trade him. Gaine had a lot of questionable moves (or lack of moves) during the offseason, but not trading Clowney for pennies on the dollar wasn't one of them IMO. Like you said, BoB wanted him gone so he's gone.
But if the Texans are all in and traded Clowney end of the year, it still wouldn’t be lower than a 3rd rounder. So pennies on the dollar just to for your ego, doesn’t really compute.
