Many posts I see suggest we trade Cato for some other player or that Cato is trade bait.

Here's a news flash. Nobody wants Kelvin Cato. We are stuck with him for the next two seasons. He'd better resign with us for the minimum for taking us for 23 mil these last 3 years.

Wow...I feel like I have traveled back in time...

    anyone have the timeline pic?

    ;)

here's news for ya...Cato has been playing good for us this season...I guarantee that somewhere there is a Eastern team in need of a good defensive center.

I will give Cato a 9 (10 best ) for his defense. But for offense, he sucks. He's a good free throw shooter though but I think he should consider only doing alley hoops, no more than that. It drives me crazy when he takes the shot instead of the others.

What's argument you back up that conclusion? Just radiculous!

In fact, quite a few NBA teams are interested in getting him.

Even though Cato was a positive surprise, there is NO way the Rockets should give him a big contract again. After he got his last contract, he went AWOL.

Recently, his game improved to being more or less decent.

In other news, Cato was recently quoted as saying he is focusing on getting a new deal.

    Coincidence?

    I don't think so.

Cato can get his new deal - somewhere else.

    We already have a center.

Cato a good free throw shooter? He's shooting 66%! Any and all offense that does not involve a slam dunk means he will miss it. Although his defense does earn him about an 8.

No, I think it was in one of the Chronicle articles. If I had search (there) or here, I could tell you.

    LOL, Kelvin Cato strikes back.

Anyway, I think Kelvin Cato is not that overpaid. He is at least a second tier center in this league and capable of starting for a lot of teams. I say keep him.

I say resign him too.. for less money and keep him to back up Yao and play occasional PF (depending on matchups). I love having him on this team and move MoT to starting PF we definately need his offense.

I dont know if we really need another PF I think MoT can fill this spot what cant he do that KThomas does better? Defense is alot about effort and I think Mot is doing that better (his rebounding has definately improved) but he still needs to box out better.

I know a lot of people say Kenny Smith is too reluctant to shoot when he's left open.

Well I have news for you. Kenny doesn't shoot if he feels he isn't going to make it. Why waste a shot when you know it won't go in?
