The dude was literally our only offense tonight. Put some damn respect on his name. Plus it’s not like a single would get him home from second.

I blame literally every other player not named JV tonight. They were all garbage.

Truly an embarrassing loss. Just spectacularly embarrassing.

JV and his HR bullish-t finally caught up with him.

I don't blame him. He and his battery-mate are the only ones that showed up to play tonight. The rest of them lost this game, so if Robbie wanted to go for some glory, I'd say he more than earned it.

    Incredibly frustrating.

I understand going for the cycle, but that's something you do in the 8th inning with a three run lead... not in the 9th inning, down one, with 2 outs.

The moment I saw that story on the Astros being the biggest betting favorite in 15 years, I knew this was a guaranteed loss.

That was a **** loss. The lineup reverted back to last year's form in Verlander's starts. Brantley was sorely missed.

I don't have a big problem with Chirinos going for 3rd, despite his mediocre speed. Many other players would've probably made the same decision in that situation. Just didn't work out.

That said, with Professional Hitter Brantley on deck to pinch hit, staying at 2nd would've obviously been the better choice. Almost any kind of hit to the outfield would've allowed Chirinos to score from 2nd. And there's a good chance that Brantley would've delivered.

The Astros have not looked good (even in their wins) ever since Osuna allowed that game-winning HR in Baltimore.

Couldn’t be said better ! The tigers threw trash pitchers out there just leftover minor leaguers ! What’s wrong with George, Tuve, Bregs, Alvarez, Yulli? They couldn’t hit those garbage pitchers? It’s like they just think teams will roll over because of who they are ! Their in a funk

Sucks JV got the loss. It's concerning that he his HR prone though. If the offense has a night like tonight in the playoffs, a HR could be the difference. Bats gotta be better though.

Go back to fundamental baserunning. DGAF. Pathetic showing.

Live by the windmill, die by the windmill :D

Bats didn't do **** all night, maybe they(Altuve/Chirinos) thought lets get aggressive on the basepath.

**** bats, **** baserunning, and the 2 hits given up were both homers.

    Whatever...

Serious question: do these one day offs really help players? We needed Brantley tonight

No reason to go for third in that situation. Chirinos couldn't score on a wild pitch or passed ball so being on 3rd makes no difference than being on second.
