agree what you said a good player likes to go to a winning team or a team having a potential to win. However, you have to put one more factor in your thought. it is that a good player also consider his PT. for example, would a good pf want to play for spur? probably not. what about rox, i think yes. because we need a good pf and also rox has the potential to be a contender for a title. you can't deny that. we just miss a couple of pieces, such as pf position. so a good pf will think rox could be very good if he comes in to fill that hole at pf position. anyway, a FA will consider all factors to decide where he goes. Rox has some advantages on some factors for attracting a FA.
Were we chasing Payton and Malone? I had no idea. You don't think free agents would love to play with Yao? I'm so glad you enlightened me. You don't see where a player might like to live as being a factor? Tell that to Steve Francis.
I believe Elton Brand has one of the best wingspans in the league, one that earns him almost 3 blocks per game. Aside from that, he's a better post player - the guy can actually create points in the post. Boozer would be great to have at PF, but he's not comparable to Brand - Brand is an easy 20/10/3 every night, I can't see Boozer ever eclipsing 20ppg, or ever blocking even 2 shots a game.
Buried in this article is news confirming no Booz on the Rocks. Yes, imagine the possibilities just from his name itself, if we had signed him. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=stein_marc&id=1746170 Feather-in-cap kudos go to Cleveland general manager Jim Paxson, who quietly signed Carlos Boozer to a three-year contract when the power forward from Duke slipped into the second round of 2002 draft. As a result, Cleveland doesn't have to sweat losing Boozer like Golden State did with Gilbert Arenas, and like San Antonio and Detroit are sweating now with Manu Ginobili and Mehmet Okur, respectively.
Mehmet Okur would be nice too. Boozer is a bad@$$, but the Cavs are not going to let him go very easy. Either one of these guys would be nice in a Rocket uni next year. With Ben Wallace, Darko, and Rasheed Wallace I don't think the Pistons are going to be able to keep Okur. If the Rockets could somehow trade for Boozer, but I don't see how because the Rockets don't have much the Cavs need.
The whole reason why Det traded for Sheed is to be able to resign Okur next season. Even though Sheed is a type of player that can change their mind about Okur, I think they would trade Darko before Okur.
I really love to have him but then again his value just went up! I would say at least somewhere in the vicinity of 8 million per year. Won't have enough for YAO!!!Can't do it!
Boozer has three year conract (GM of cav is smart), although he is 2nd round. he will be restricted after rookie contract, So no way you can get him.
I think we have established this already....thanks anyway. Man..this thread has been a b****...everyone quoting the few people I have on my ignore list multiple times for each of their stupid posts.
