Here's Mark putting pressure on the Rockets' backcourt. Interesting that Mark decided to pick our backcourt to use as a barometer of sorts, no? :

The following is an excerpt from an article by Richard Justice (who hasn't figured out how to spell Cuttino's name yet... [IMG]) and the Houston Chronicle.

    -----------------------------------

"I hope he comes back," Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said. "I think he is going to get killed by a lot of the young guys. It will be good for the league when players want Jordan to guard them so they can make him look bad.

"I think the fans in Houston will love seeing Stevie Franchise (Francis) and Cutino (Mobley) running circles around MJ. It will make people realize that MJ was the best, but at 39, while he will be a productive player able to score, I don't think he will be the best when he comes back. I don't even think he will be a top 10 player for that matter. But that will be part of the fun, seeing what kind of impact he can have."

Francis is better than Both Terry and Davis.

Terry's only weapon is scoring, and Steve got more ppg than he did.

Davis's main weapons are scoring, passing, and rebounding. Steve got more points, 1 less assist, and 2 more rebounds.

You never know. Jordan might still have it in him. Sure he'll be skooled on occassion, but I think he's going to intimidate some people! But how can he bring the freakin Wizards into a contending spot. That almost seems impossible! Maybe with a healthy Chuck.

after his little baseball experiment, didnt jordan come back to play basketball toward the end of one season? Is that right? I seem to recall that he was sluggish and wearing a different number..like 45 or something...of course, he finally warmed up and started killing teams the next season...but wasnt he around at the end of one season before that? Maybe it will take him half a season to get back to good form this time around...

I seem to remember him scoring something like 40 or 50 in his second game back against New York, so I don't think it took him that long to adjust.

Which was better-Jordan of 85-93 or Jordan of 96-98?

Personally I think it was the latter. He was more of a team player then, he also had a much more effective "J" late in his career.

That really pisses me off that Steve got slighted over Baron Davis and Jason Terry.

    JASON TERRY!?!?!

    What a joke.

The only positive from this is now Francis has even more motivation to carry this team to the playoffs and show up these lame committee members.

Yeah...that's a crock. I dont think the basketball fans around the world were offended by the so-called show-boating at the last olympics as much as they were offended by the idea that the American team considered itself undefeatable or automatic gold-metal winners regardless of their performance level. so even if Francis was a "showboat," the rest of the world wouldnt hold that against america...now if america sucked and was showboating - that might be a different story.

so really, there isnt any reason why Francis should not be on that team. because
    1. francis isnt a showboating kind of guy
    2. Even if he were, it wouldnt matter as long as the team played quality basketball
