Am I following? That wouldn't ring true among Christians, who claim to have a personal relationship with God. That makes MadMax's simile appropriate. We know a lot about who MadMax is even though we don't know what he looks like or what his real name is. And, it doesn't matter if Max has blond hair or brown. Anyway, on CS Lewis' options, I would guess somewhere between mediocre moral teacher and lunatic. I think 'lunatic' is way too strong a word. You only have to be a little screwy to run around claiming to be the Messiah. And, it isn't like nothing he had to say about morality and his society had any validity. There was some truth there. But, you can't call him great either if he says he's God if he is not.
