I went. Originally I was in section 425 and fairly disappointed with the sound (not loud enough and bad acoustics), so I wandered downstairs. Sat in the seats directly facing the stage for a few songs. Very loud, and the sound quality was excellent. Linkin Park was great, but the choice of encore (two slow songs before they played One Step Closer) was questionable. POD was good, but whats with having all the random guys from the audience on stage? At least bring trashy metal death-waifs or something, not a bunch of big dudes making pseudo-gang signs.
wish i was there. I remember their first tour only went to Dallas as far as Texas is concerned. This year they went to SA, Dallas and Houston, but I wished they'd come to Austin. I'd totally go.
I was also disspointed by the sound. Then I noticed that Linkin Park was on stage and realized why it sounded bad.
Oh man, that was an INCREDIBLE concert. I was blown away on how everybody got into it. The whole place was standing up while Linkin Park performed. I was pissed that I was too late to see Story of the Year. I was sitting at Sec 113 Row 22, which was right smack in the middle. Plus, didnt it smell like "reefer" when they performed?
Story of the Year blew out Hoobastank. Hoobastank was boring as hell. I was there to see P.O.D., and they didnt dissapoint. I dont care too much for Linkin Park, but they were actually pretty good.
I went, section 105 . Damn, POD really stunk it up, LP was great, Story of the Year's Metallica Cover ROCKED. Hoobastank could have been better.
Holy ****, after reading this thread, I'm officially an old man. I've never heard of these bands. The ones I have, I really don't care for. I just don't see the appeal is all. I'm not saying they aren't talented, for the most part they aren't, there's some talented guys out there. It's all a bunch of recycled stuff to me. And reefer at a concert is strange to you guys? Oh man.
Linkin Park is recycled poppy nu-metal played through a synthesizer, but i still like them. Not enough to buy their records, mind you, but enough to hum along to their songs on the radio. I basically consider them Bon Jovi for a new generation. Blatant pop, but catchy as hell.
Linkin Park is like a guilty pleasure for me. Their songs are extremely simple (listen to the piano remixes I posted a while back for proof) and they all pretty much sound the same. Despite all this, though, I still love 'em to death. Plus, they don't swear all the time like many of their counterparts, so they're okay for kids.
Hoobastank is pretty good, but I keep hearing a lot about Story Of The Year. I'm going to have to pick that CD up.
my lord...for all of you that went or wanted to go to this concert im thinking of putting you on my ignore list...
What does most of you have against LP Arguments 1. They are the same recycled crap Not true, one of the only bands to have two vocalists in recent history and are actually pretty good. (Personal opionion of chester's voice and Mile's rhymes). I think their music is quite amaizing in how well it all fits and the flawless transitions between the sounds. 2. Their music is overly simple Just exaclty how complex was paint it black, i wanna hold your hand, or dream on from a music stand point? It's not all about going nuts with experimental stuff, sometimes it's good to be simple if it works, imo it does. 3. They are just another pop band, no identity etc etc Bull, unlike some of the pop bands out there good charlotte, limp biskit, etc etc, that try to horde media attention once they get on top, LP has been pretty low key. There wasn't even that much hype around their second album (no trl play, very limited radio play initially) and yet it sold very well. #1 for several weeks i believe, to me that's just a testament to how good they are. Not everyone who buys their CD are brainless disenchanted suburban kids.
