Its sad that the game isnt soldout yet. Im buying 6 tickets for all my friends and hope everyone does the same. We need to support the team and the only way to show it is by putting your wallet where your mouth is.
It’ll be close to a sellout. The team has drawn very well against some pretty crappy opponents lately. The Rockies are probably the worst possible opponent they could have other than Tampa.
My favorite stat on this deal - Greinke has as many HR this year as Tyler White (yes, in 200+ fewer plate appearances).
Not that poster, but it is usually nice to give a guy a warm welcome. Granted, Greinke does not sound the type that would appreciate the warm welcome.
i went to both monday and tuesday games against the a's two weeks ago and both were either sold out or damn near close to it. was also at the game yesterday against the trash mariners which was probably a sell out or incredibly close to it as well. i wouldn't stress about fan support - they're getting it in droves.
There'll be 30-35,000 people there (~ +10K above Arizona's usual home game) and they will greet him warmly. I doubt he'll feel slighted he didn't personally lead to a sell-out (though I suspect walk-up purchases will be brisk).
I bought two tix for Tuesday night on Saturday. It was hard finding decent affordable seats, ended up in section 109 spending a bit more than hoped but was excited to see Greinke and figured I could economize a bit with dinner. "Dear, quit looking at those delicious looking fajitas, we're having hot dogs tonight."
