Just my guess, but I think the Giants were only going to trade him if they got an over pay. They are playing very well, think they can make the playoffs and know that they will get a draft pick this winter for him.
The Cubs didn't spend that much money because they stripped their farm system. The Cubs have made some foolish deals (primarily the one for Quintana) the money was not in this case spent because the Cubs traded away the players in their system that they then had to replace by signing free agents.
This is seriously ****ing annoying and is a reason I dont visit too often like I used to. This is happening non stop. I'll just get on Twitter than deal with this crap.
If Arizona really was asking the Yankees for Frazier plus 3 good prospects For Ray. I don’t see Houston coming close to that. Maybe Arizona is cool with buying down Greinke just enough for Houston to afford him but not enough for them to have to give up Tucker.
I feel like we got a little too cute and greedy with some of these prospects. Even with Correa possibly not staying long term. We need another arm or two.
