Team Japan all of a sudden has more NBA caliber players than team China. Who would've guessed?? Looks like SLAM DUNK™ is coming to fruition
I know but never underestimate the Host.......Bball is prolly No 2 watched sport after Soccer. They'll develop talent.
Serbia/Greece are for sure the top contenders to put up a good fight against the US. Both Canada and Australia have a lot of talent, but I don't think they're better as a team than those other two. Not sure what to think of Spain/France...
They used to be a super dominant team with peak Gasols and J.C. Navarro, and clearly the best team in Europe between 2006-2016, but this golden generation has grown old (and some of them have retired already). They're not nearly as good as they used to be. I don't think they're even a top3 EU team anymore. I would be absolutely shocked if they made the top-4 in this World Cup. France on the other hand is definitely capable. But they're very inconsistent. They always have a lot of NBA level talent, but often disappoint.
Trust you on this but I want to see some Hernangomez brothers. Greece and Spain are always there when it comes to FIBA ball.
I simply have come to hate Spain at this point. Especially Calderon. As long as they dont win Im fine.
I was surprised to see Bourousis in Greece, had no idea he is still playing. After looking on the squads published I would go with Greece and Serbia as the strongest European teams. My personal favorite is Italy eventhough I dont see them do well.
