Or think about bundling a few of them for a 4 that can grab a board once in a while and take the load off our 35 year old starter. Are all of these contracts official now, and so can't be moved until 12/15?
Only 3 of them have any trade value (WBrook/Harden/Gordon). Rivers and Green can't be traded without their consent. Aggregating a handful of wildcard minimums isn't going to get you much back in trade. Another wildcard minimum at the 4 maybe?
Between he and Anthony Bennett, our lineup in the last 2 minutes of a blow out is starting to look good. This group is the NBA’s equivalent to a Victory Formation in the NFL.
Hartenstein-Bennett-McLemore-Chiozza-Clemons A finals MVP, a #1 overall pick, an NCAA #3 all-time scorer. Best D-team in the NBA.
Mac grew up playing as an undersized PF. He has really fantastic feet on defense. Truly the one thing that has held him back is his ball-handling, which is why he *could* be a great fit in Houston. Just catch and shoot and focus on turning those physical tools into tough defense. Simple. We will see, it’s probably his last legit chance to really make it in the league.
That's what they're going to do, I think. As @ghettocheeze brilliantly summarized with the Macklemore gif. Let Shump ride off into the sunset. I guess they could send Gordon to a team with a surplus of decent bigs making 10-ish a year. I agree that none of the thrift store pickups have any value at the moment. Running out of roster room though, so they'll have to move someone of value if they want to add that big.
All jokes aside, I'm glad to see Morey kicking the can on reclamation projects again. These guys are ideal on NGT'd or partial GT'd contracts.
They can just cut these guys which is most likely IMO. They all have only partial guarantees. Guys like Michael Frazier, Chris Chiozza, Shamorie Ponds, Chris Clemons, Ben McLemore, Anthony Bennett, Deyonta Davis, Trevon Duval, Vince Edwards, William McDowell-White... There's very little guaranteed money combined among all of them. They'll give out two 2-way contracts, but they aren't carrying all of these guys and they have no trade value unless it's aggregating for a dollar figure purpose.
At what time do the Rockets need to make a decision about these players? I vaguely remember the max players on a roster, by which I guess is meant players with guaranteed salaries, is something like 15 with 3 injured. They're at that point now, right? Do they have to make cuts by Game 1/82, the first preseason game, some other date?
Whole lot of complaining for a: Former lottery pick Who’s 26 entering his prime Has 223 Career starts! Has modest production, including a career 35.3% 3fg% Last I checked players get better with Harden. ...on a min deal
Coming out of Kansas I thought he was going to be a freaking stud. That didn't exactly work out so good so far.
Wow! Great signing! Was always thinking what if he is a Rocket. I belive he can get 10 ppg easily off the bench. Definitely an upgrade over GG.
Still would like the Rockets to bring in Sefolosha or Simmons at the very least. A player at the 4 would be nice to have as well. Even if it is a 3 that is a tweener.
