I don't see much help left in FA …. at least at positions this team needs help at. If there's any help coming , its gotta be a trade or buyout.
Don't think you follow his game much. 42 years old. Still shoots 39 % from three.. I wouldn't sign him because I feel we need more length.
Lol he played with the hawks, he needs to hang it up, because the suns are rebuilding and i doubt he gets a chance there. Nor is the bulls,Cavs, and Knicks stupid enough to sign him.
Yet in the right system a fierce competitor, especially on the defensive end, and will knock down the three more consistently if given a better opportunity to. In this system he will see all kinds of open looks.
I know what you mean about his defense. Just saying Bertans give you some Nick Novak play. Novak did well with D'Antoni as a stretch 4 in NY. Provide spacing for Harden/Westbrook ....offense off the charts.
I mean...if we were a normal team that cared about retaining assets, we'd just go ahead and sign Shumpert, even though he's pricier than minimum guys. Unfortunately...we have Tilman...
Guys i want to sign ahead of Thabo 1. Anthony Randolph 2. Jarrod Uthoff 3. Sam Dekker I like Thabo. And will gladly take him for depth. But we need: 1. Younger guys with lower mileage but experienced And 2. Elite volume shooting Randolph, Uthoff, and Bennett give you both. And AR and Uthoff give you defense to boot.... making it possible to step PJ down to the 3. But I'd take Thabo IF we also had several of Bruno, ARandolph, Uthoff, Bennett, and Dekker on board.
No of course he was great in his prime, but i was talking about these last years, always wanted VC here as a veteran to add some depth, not that i expect much out of him now, but he's still a pretty good shooter and would just like to have him on the team.
Stock appears to be super low on Jonathan Simmons atm. Sixers fans weren't too happy with his performance in his short stint in Philly. He wasn't even playing well in garbage minutes with them. But I'd still take a flyer with hopes of bringing out the 2017 playoff version of him. You know, the one that torched us for 20 and gave Harden all kinds of fits in Game 6.
Back to the FA regarding this point : our depth on the forward issues. I think based on the style and team make up and more importantly, the trend of the NBA, the size on the 4 is overrated. Many teams actually will like to play more of a 3 G lineup. Not only you can open up the lane more for Russ and Harden, you can actually forcing the other team to play small, if the other team will insist putting a big 4 (unless he is Draymond type of player), he is always a liability against quick (Russ) and skilled (Harden) G, the Rox will just switch them and abuse them to death. So, don't expect we will just get one because we needed to. No, size is overrated nowadays.
