Why mention White in a minor league thread? Read your original post with an unprejudiced eye, and consider the fact that others cannot read your mind, and have no idea about how anal you are concerning thread boundaries.
Bryan Abreu allowed two hits and struck out seven over four scoreless innings of relief tonight for Corpus Christi.
I mentioned that Kyle Tucker was playing 1B in a minor league game, in a minor league thread. The mention of White was obviously because he could be impacted by such a move, although I didn't necessarily see it coming that he would be DFA'd at this point to add a pitcher.
Since 4 days ago, rotation auditions among our top pitching prospects has been lights out, finally: July 16 Sneed 7IP 5H 0R 1BB 7K July 17 Paredes 6IP 3H 0R 2BB 9K July 18 Bukauskas 6IP 7H 1R 2BB 9K, Tyler Ivey 3IP 0H 0R 1BB 2K July 19 Abreu 4IP 2H 0R 0BB 7K
I doubt that there's anyone who believes that Bryan Abreu or J.B. Bukauskas is auditioning for a rotation spot in Houston this year. Ivey could have been if he hadn't missed a month.
Who homered last night Josh Rojas (19, 2-run) Jack Mayfield (15, solo) Osvaldo Duarte (11, solo) Colton Shaver (13, solo) Corey Julks (3, solo); Julks finished 4-5 in Fayetteville's 6-4 loss to Lynchburg last night.
Agreed, the post was not for just this year, but next year as well (which is even more of a question mark), which will influence how desperate we are this off season.
Man, the magnitude of Whitley's struggles are alarming. His stuff is beyond question, but at a certain point you start to fear Rick Ankiel syndrome.
Alfredi Jimenez made his season debut in the GCL. He had a nice season last year between the GCL and DSL as an 18 year old, so it's good to see he's pitching again. Alex Palmer struck out 6 of the 10 batters he faced. Gives him 10Ks and no walks in the first 7 innings of his pro career. He should probably go to the NYPL soon.
Kyle Tucker just hit a 3-run homer. Distance of 421 ft. with a 106 mph exit velocity, according to the New Orleans Triple-A team's broadcaster.
Korey Lee went 3-4 with an RBI triple and a two-run single tonight for Tri-City. Valente Bellozo allowed a hit, walked one, and struck out three over three scoreless to get the win.
Bielak has now had three dynamite starts in his last five. He is really starting to emerge yet again as a potential rotation piece in the future.
