Alvarez is easily the ROY favorite. Others have played more games, but his OPS is .250 better. Awesome beginning to a career. Keep it up.
Leclerc, who was effectively wild enough to get through the inning but not before nearly taking Bregman's head off celebrated coming off the mound like he'd just thrown nine swinging strikes in a row. He's on my list now.
I enjoy watching Osuna pitch. I've spent a lot of time watching power fastball, power slider closers, and they may be have been very effective (when they were on), but Osuna is just so much interesting. The mixing of deliveries, the variety of pitches and speeds, the ice-in-veins mentality, I mean, it's like watching a really intense chess match...with more left-arm sweat. Yeah, he's not perfect (who is?), and he gets off occasionally, but he still fights through it like a warrior, and he is good at what he does.
Different leagues (AL and NL are separate for ROY and MVP), but Alvarez's OPS even beats Alonso's by .100+
12-4 this year... Should be even better than that, it feels. Just unreal watching him toe the rubber for the 'stros!
