The main problem with WB has always been his flaws combined with his high usage. There is no doubt that he can be very high risk / high reward, but he is still a player that can single handily take a team to the 5-6 seed in a very brutal West. He is still a player who, when combined with Durant, pushed the 73-win GSW team to its limits. Can he shoot the team out of a win? Sure and that will no doubt happen, but he will also shoot the team into far, far more games as he always had.

On the Rockets, his usage and more importantly offensive burden will be a lot less. He will have a lot more energy and that has typically meant fireworks for WB. We will see of course, but our future definitely isn't as bleak as some people are making it seem.

 

You do know that he is a 80% career FT shooter.

 

Id like to see the number of attempts for these catch and shoot threes.

 

He shot 39% on open 3's in the playoffs.

No, he will take some ridiculous / terrible shots, that's a given. The thing that is vastly in our favor however is that we have more and much better shooters to provide him with more spacing than he has ever had in OKC and a vastly superior lob threat in Capela. He will still do some mind boggling things (in the bad way), but he has far more leeway offensively than in OKC.

 

And that he hit an all time low of 65% last year. His shooting is getting worse - not better.

i have acknowledged Westbrook has serious flaws you have yet to acknowledge Westbrook has any good qualities.

 

I hope you're right but that just seems REALLY optimistic. This coming season will be much more fun if you're right than if I'm right though. That's for sure.

 

Says who? The official nba website says he was 6/17 on "wide open" 3s (6+ feet of space), which is 35%.

He was also 25% on "open" 3s (4-6 feet of space), and 33% on "open" 2s.
