Stats come from nba.com Chris Paul passes to his Centers (Capela/Nene) last year... *7.9 passes per game to Centers *Centers averaged 3 ppg off Paul passes (not including free throws) *53% fg percent off Paul passes Russell Westbrook passes to his Centers (Adams/Noel) last year... *13.3 passes per game to Centers *Centers averaged 7 ppg off Westbrook passes (not including free throws) *56% fg percent off Westbrook passes James Harden passes to his Centes (Capela/Nene) last year... *9.8 passes per game to Centers *Centers averaged 6 ppg off Harden passes (not including free throws) *63% fg percent off Harden passes Prediction Capela will have a career year because of having Westbrook instead of Chris Paul. Westbrook likes to find his Centers more than any player we've had. Capela averaged 17 ppg with Paul/Harden. Don't be shocked when Capela averages 20+ ppg with Westbrook/Harden. 20 ppg and 12 rpg is an all-star...especially when we will have the best record in the NBA.
As dynamic as the Lob City Clippers were, I was expecting CP3 to feed Clint all day long. But he never really looked for the lob like Harden does (and Westbrook will).
I do kinda wonder if WB will pull an Adams on Capela and ask him to defer some boards so he can continue the triple double streak. So maybe scoring high for Capela but career low on boards?
This is exactly the reason. You have to force Clint's man to rotate to cover your penetration. The problem was Paul could no longer get past most defenders and certainly not in a reliable manner. People don't want to confront the truth that we are getting a drastic upgrade in Westbrook as a play-maker simply because he is still athletically dominant and will force the defense to adjust. This should also open up opportunities for Harden as well.
Hate to rain on the parade. He won't make it because there won't be a Center category. Forwards are preferred. Kawhi is back in the West.
Lob city bro with Clint and Tyson Chandler being fed oops by Harden and Westbrook I mean even some of Westbrick's shot are like assists considering how far off they are
I'd like to offer a different spin on that because Westbrook is ours now: It's more like, 'If you box out, I'll make sure our team gets the rebound.'
At this point idc who gets the board as long as we get them. Thunder were a top rebounding team while we constantly gave the warriors 5 shots per posession.
I hope this is true. Would help because Capela is very efficient at the rim. Also, if this doesn't work out I'd love to see his value inflated because we're going to need some picks back if we blow it up.
