I still don’t get how Miami didn’t end up getting Russ.

Dragic Winslow Bam and picks. I know they probably didn’t have as much picks but they still had some.

What on earth are OKC going to do with Chris Paul and do you guys think this is Russ really wanting Houston over Miami and the Thunder doing right by him? Because I kind of find that hard to believe. The team would be much better off with the Miami package I proposed and I can’t see Miami not willing to part with Winslow and Bam for him.

I will say, watching Harden/Paul for an entire season in 2018 got me to really understand playmaking style, something extremely overlooked.

Harden and Paul throw different types of passes with different timing. CP3 is far better than James at skip passes with either hand, which says an absolute **** ton because James is amazing. However, James is better at passing any and everything towards to rim. Especially with his left.

If its an interior bounce pass, MAYBE CP3is just as good for it, but not otherwise.

In every highlight Steven Adams is getting tons of easy lobs by Russell, Russell doesn't get scared of lobs to Adams.

Chris Paul rarely gave lobs to Capela, it was like he was protecting his turnover stats. Whenever Chris saw Clint open he never lobs. Russell is so quick to push the ball with running teammates and finds a corner shooter or lobs to Adams.

Because Westbrook didn't want to go there, he wanted to play in Houston.

That's the main reason it didn't happen, if Westbrook put Miami over Houston then he'd be going to Miami right now.

On the surface , it appears just as they said - They sent Russ to his preferred destination.

You look at the protections on the picks - the swaps are essentially worthless as the Rockets should be better than the Thunder in those seasons and the picks may not ever convey. (WTF??)

This deal was like a gift … Got us out of the CP3 contract which is one of the leagues worst (Wall / Love come to mind) and got an MVP caliber player in return for what may amount to …. Nothing.

On the surface , it looks like Presti lost his ass in this deal but think about what he gained - He's going to have truckloads of cap space in the near future to throw at free agents and even with that , its hard to get players to go to teams in less desirable cities. He can pay them max money and assure them that if they aren't happy he'll send them where they want to go.
Now he does have to do right by Felecia to cement that idea …. but its a given that they don't want that situation dragging out. I expect by mid season he's somewhere on a short list of teams he'd be happy playing for.

Presti heads to free agency .… with a truckload of money , a pile of draft picks and the assurance that players will be happy there or go where they want to be. That could be attractive ….

Ok, I understand the disappointment or even the dissatisfaction in Paul’s last year but let’s not forget how good he was the year earlier. Let’s act a bit more classy and appreciate his effort and contributions to our team and city. Remember he was the first one volunteering during the floods to help the community and donating out of his own pocket to help the city out.

Good luck to Paul whatever or wherever he ends up and will always be remembered fondly.

Westbrook had a TS of 46% last playoffs, if we are going to play that game.

We traded a HOF PG with busted leg issues for a HOF PG with busted head issues.

Seems like a wash so far...
