I would sign Shump to a $10-11 million dollar deal and go into the season with him. If he bounces back, great. If he doesn't, we can ship him out for another player by the trade deadline that fits the needs of the team based on seeing how the team plays the first 25-35 games of the season. There's 0 reason to pull a panic mode and trade for a washed Iggy. There are others on the market with less notoriety but potentially better production for this team.

I would rather get crowder from memphis over iggy and go after covington. Morey should attach all of the NG guys and 2nd round picks for crowder and S&T Shumpert and a 1st for Covington. Bring back Faried.

A) Has the best winning percentage inf franchise history?
B) Took this team from mediocrity (McHale) to 7 games in WCF against one of the best teams ever assembled?
C) Won Coach of the Year just a little over a year ago?
D) Made James Harden into a juggernaut?

2) Dump a GM who
A) Pulled off one of the biggest heist's in NBA history? (James Harden for Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb and picks?)
B) Is highly sought after as an NBA GM? Morey would be working for another franchise the following day.
And, Who would we replace him with?

I know that MDA was not renewed for extension (maybe that's a Tilman thing)
But I believe James and MDA are pretty tight. I believe Harden loves MDA's system and thrives in it.
Bringing in a Thibodeau type could change the atmosphere and run James out the door.
But, only time will tell.

 

I like the idea of Covington, but it's going to cost Gordon which I'm fine with.
