the national media, as usual, has it all wrong. They keep talking fit, fit, fit with WB shooting, and oh noes, he’s gonna have to cut off the ball. This is all, quite frankly, unmitigated horse ****. First, they will stagger him and Harden like they did CP3 and Harden. So, for 12-16 minutes a game it will be a total and complete non issue. Second, he will be looking to get out and run like he always does, while Harden is essentially not involved in the play. Third, I expect him to be the primary ball handler almost the entire time he’s on the court, running high pick and roll with Capella or Chandler with 3 shooters orbiting him. The few times that he’s off the ball and it finds its way to him he’s likely to attack the hard close out. For all the mouth breather national mediots talking about it won’t work bc of the system with Moreyball it’s like they forget it’s a trident: layups, 3’s and FT. Westbrook is about to be given carte blanche to attack the rim in the soft open center of the defense and it’s going to be literally terrifying for the other team to deal with. Until WB loses his burst and lift he’s going to wreck shop in this offense There’s so much I don’t like about WB. The idea that he’s some sort of bad fit, offensively, on this team is just mind meltingly stupid. Watch and see.
"Fit issues" won't be solved by trading away WB. They'll trade away the rest of the team before that happens. Let's hope we don't walk that path while carrying two sticks of lit dynamite.
Nah. But I did laugh at the social media guy that had a gun to the horses head that got himself fired.
I'm trying to process what you're saying. Are you saying you expect Harden to be a spot-up shooter/decoy while Westbrook does his thing all but 12-16 minutes per game? I am concerned about teams packing the paint and attempting to principally limit the Rockets offense to Westbrook three-point attempts. Thoughts?
No, I’m saying I expect harden to be 1B to WB’s 1A often times while handling the ball, and I expect WB to get plenty of run outs and fast breaks. Then they will take turns when they are both in at the same time with WB running high pick and roll with 3 guys spaced at the arc. It’s going to be a total b**** for other teams to defend for 48 minutes.
im not really worried about james and russell. my worry is if we have enough outside of them, especially upfront. hopefully we can make more moves.
The rockets just got defensive player of the year, nba champion, all star, all nba Tyson chandler to back up Capela. The sky is the sky next season is up in the sky far away tall.
I do agree and understand what you're saying.... Until the coaching philosophy changes, it really doesn't matter who you bring in... Now the one good thing about having Russ is, he's the one person that maybe able to get in Harden's face and make him change his ways on offense and defense... At least Harden does respect Russ, so maybe.. just maybe that may be a good plus... The other thing about Russ, is that he's going to give you 100% of hustle and no quit and with an attitude to go along with it.. The bad side is Russ can do some $hit at times and his basketball IQ can be -10 at times.... So hopefully the coaching changes where we get everyone involved and Russ can finally get thru to Harden to actually start playing defense and team ball. T_Man
