I bet this thread doesn't reach JLin as a Hornet levels... speaking of which... this is actually CP3's 2nd stint in OKC but last time was a post-Katrina Hornet. He played there first two years, so I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed actually...
he wont stay there. odds are he'll be shipped to miami. he has no chance to win in okc with that team. heat could make playoffs in east at least.
guy is an idiot. as smart as he is, he revealed his true colors once he signed that max deal. he's not worth that money, will never be, and he freaking knew it. signed it anyway. there's no combination of superstars and salaries that will allow CP a shot at winning a chip... he's going to look back on his career and regret playing w/ a talent like Harden and never breaking out of the West. all he had to do was take a little bit less.
I wouldn't say he is an idiot. Anyone who makes that much money by signing a contract is not an idiot. LOL. But yeah, he's never gonna end up on a contender with that contract.
If Miami wants him they have several contracts that match up with CP3s salary. Dragic + one of Olynyk, Johnson, Waiters Or Olynyk + Johnson + Waiters
i just say it like it is, brotha. and it is what it is. CP had to take a little bit less, and give Morey like 8-10 mil, he can work literal magic w/ that, especially w/ Harden sweet-talking. CP single-handed-ly ruined future chances of winning a chip for himself. and he was actually OK with that. what i'm not OK w/ is the dude putting that on the Rockets organization.
He's not staying in OKC they're going to trade him eventually why would they keep that ridiculous contract
if other teams low-ball OKC, they also have tons of picks they can rely on. tank for 2 seasons and trade CP w/ an opt-in for the final season as an expiring, that's a rather nice asset to have, IMO, especially if you've drafted right. and OKC drafts really well.
This thread should be the longest running thread in Rox history. It should because JLin never got overpaid 100M by the Rockets and ruined the Rox future not once but twice with all the assets we gave up in trades to get him and trades to get rid of him. I'm not going to look it up but how many players and draft picks did it cost the Rox to obtain Russ?
if I'm CP, i choose winning the chip over staying the union president. 10 times out of 10. i get it, chip is not a guarantee. but sacrifices need to be made if you want ANY chance at it. if you don't want to sag on that salary, why are you on the mic talking about the chip, then? feeding us BS?
