Don't plan to see it, but will watch it when it comes on cable.

By the way...did anyone read the review in this morning's Houston Chronicle?

The reviewer absolutely trashed the movie, grading it an "F". He said that the violence in the movie overshadowed the story itself.

    Here's a link.....

I'm sure I will see it eventually, on dvd etc.

I was very interested when I first heard about it. I seems now it is only a movie about what a crucifixion is like. A focus on violence, wonderful. The realistic aspects of the movie is pick and choose. (He might would of reeled me in if he used a historicaly correct Jesus and Mary etc.) The marketing is lame, plus Gibson's attitude is unbearable. I got totally turned off. But according to him, I just have a problem with the gospels and not the movie.

Also when I hear people planning to use this as a evangelical tool, you can just count me out.

define "biggest"...you mean in terms of dollars made?

i would argue that it's already become a prominent conversation piece...and is sparking real dialogue between real people in temples and churches across the country. in that sense, i think it may be far more influential than movies that will gross more at the box office.

I'll see it, but I'll pay to see something else.
