Hawks have been setting themselves to have a good foundation of a solid team in the future.

Why would they do this though?

Young teams should have good vets.
Not selfish players who want all the shots, and tell rookies that defence doesn't pay in this league.

Love this move for the Hawks. They have about 40-50 ppg to replace between the players they lost and if there's one thing Parker's good at it's getting buckets.

I mean I kinda get it. They think he has potential and are gambling on the fact that Trae can unleash it. The problem is, I don't think Jabari has enough potential to justify the potential negative impact he might leave both on the court and off the court for them.

    - potential.

Why in the hell would a young team want this guy in the locker room.

A bit of a strange signing for the rebuilding Hawks, but I guess the price is right.

Just from one BR article -
"Citing Parker's practice habits and lack of defensive commitment, Boylen pulled Parker from the rotation after only five games on the job.

Parker's, shall we say, suspect defensive effort has been well documented. That doesn't make for a tidy fit with a coach who's trying to retrofit a culture with a backbone of, um, defense. Parker's ideas on this topic came across loud and clear in a radio interview he did with 670 The Score after the Bulls signed him, when he infamously stated, "They don't pay players to play defense.""

Jeff Green should have hired Parker's agent.
