plz, leave this board. it is for rox fans only. go back to cleveland and put your head into lebron's @ss.
Naww im coo & all i said was i think lebron will be better than Yao and u took it personally for some damn reason i think your the 1 who needs to leave
see your own words. you started, not me. we were talking about whom should we pick to build a champ team at the beginning. we pick yao because a good center is very very very very hard to be found. a team with a good center has better chance to win a ring. we are not comparing the stats between yao and lebron. some of you took it to the comparision. fvck. you know the difference between me and you. i am listening and thinking while you are not listening and not thinking either.
whatever man keep tellin your self that but its simple i think lebron will be more dominant and you think Yao will. DONT get me wrong i never said Yao isnt goning to be dominant im just saying LJ will more than Yao. Lets just leave it at that
LeBron is just as tall as Bird - 6'8 to 6'9 and is much bigger. Also, I included Magic and Kareem and Shaq and Kobe because it would not be fair to leave off any of them. And I also said over the last 20-25 Years. And I didn't include Cousy's or Jerry West or lots of other smaller players.
First, LeBron is only 19 years old. Second, it's hypocritical for Yao fans to think LeBron won't get much better after beating my ears bloody over the last two years about how much better he's going to get. How he's going to go from 13 and 8 to being the dominant player in the league. And if minutes make all the difference, Yao is playing 32 mins per game. Let's say that we get his minutes up to 36 minutes a game. So the most we can expect from him is 1/8 more production which would be - 19 ppg 10.125 rebounds and 1.91 blocks?
My point is: Both have potential, although I think Yao may have more , you think Lebron may have more. But even Miss Cleo can't tell who's going to be better in a long run at this moment. 19 year old is not an excuse, his body is already built like an 29 year old. Griffin came to rockest at age 19, but never improved. So Lebron might turn out to be a lot better or he might not improve at all. Only time will tell. Without knowing the future, I take Yao cause he has a bigger impact right now and with better conditioning and more minutes Yao's production will up even without other improvement.
Juugie, Lemme ask you a question. Is Lebron getting double and triple teamed nightly? Wow, a player who doesn't even get double teamed is the greatest player of all time? WOW. Thx Owned GG.
You forgot to add Derek Fisher into the "small guys" group. Also add Steve Kerr's rings while you're at it.
How old is Eddie Griffin? King James is a delusional 19 years old talking about himself in third person. Many players get their lives wrecked for getting into the league being too young and immature, for every Kobe or Garnett there's a Griffin, or maybe, LJ. James is shooting at 41% and 3's at 28%, there's no guarentee that he'll get the touch to be a great shooter. In the zone defense era, as a guard LJ has to be able to shoot like Kobe or T-Mac. There's a chance for him to not get it. Yao can be the most offensively complete center of all time, unblockable hook shots, fadeaways, post play, outside shooting, driving to the hoop, great passing, you name it. That's why Yao's shooting at 53% while being double teamed. LeBron? Well, come back and bark when he gets a decent shot and gets double teamed like Yao. Defensively, you can match LeBron with another tall guard/sf. Yao? hm.. let's see, Shawn Bradley? LOL. Yao is a much bigger mismatch than LeBron can ever dream to be. Not mention LeBron has, generously estimating, 50% of Yao's defensive impact. Yao can play good defense by just standing there and raise his arms. No can do for LJ. Height matters and you can't teach height. LeBron can't even lead the Cavs to .500 in the Leastern conference with good talents around. Carlos Boozer(15/11) and ZI(14/8) are a very solid frontcourt in the east. LeBron is just a stats padder on a crappy team, and an overrated one. If LeBron shoots less and gives the shots to Boozer and ZI, the Cavs will be a better team. LeBron can't even shoot like Francis in his first year and you guys are propping him up to be the next T-Mac.
Ming and LeBron, they both can be #1 pick, depend on which team holds #1 at the draft. Rocket may pick Ming since SF3 is here. Cavalier will pick LeBron since they have big Z. Both of them are going to be great players and will have huge impact on NBA. I like to see their matchup in the future.
some are forgetting lebron's still a rookie..yao had alot of foreign competition before he entered the leage, not much at the nba level, but he was getting pushed around last year and wasnt using his size to his advantage,,,,lebron entered the nba with an nba type body and can take over a game,,,like yao,,but yao just is starting to string together some games,,,, either or tom will be fun
All you guys making these bold predictions are really putting yourselves out on a limb. There's such a thing as the PRESENT and FACTS. FACT #1 Lebron shoots 41% from the field, and 28% from the 3 pt line. FACT #2 Yao shoots 54% from the field FACT #3 Lebron doesn't get double teamed and shoots 19 shots per game FACT #4
FACT #4 Yao shoots 11 shots per game while getting doubled and triple teamed, often BEFORE he gets the ball. You decide who's the better player right now. You can argue on potential all you want to, but "potential" has burned many folks and discredited a lot of posters on this board in the past.
good post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! although i have a different opinion on lebron. i think lebron has a potential to be good player.
Hmmm, potential is a double-edged sword...You can also be "burned" by not recognizing potential based on refusing to acknowledge talent when you see it. I mean, even AggNRox has come around. You really don't want LJ to become a dominate player do you? Like if refusing to acknowledge his potential would cause him to NOT become an elite player; you might want to wish a little harder next time.
I'm not going to rebut you myself. I'll let the pros do it. http://espn.go.com/page2/s/simmons/040107.html http://www.iht.com/articles/123624.html http://www.iht.com/articles/128338.html
Yet, you can't see that 21/5.7/5.7 for a H.S. player is a NOT a "bust?" I mean, how much more proof do you need? Most sports journalist today have concluded that Yao will be a great player someday. But that wasn't until after he proved it on the court. LeBron is proving, now, as 19 year old!
when did I say Lebron is going to be a bust? i just pointed out that Juugie using those so-called pros's opinions to prove Lebron is/will be a greater player than Yao is weak. imo, it's premature at his stage to draw a conclusion as to Yao or Lebron who will end up a better player when all is said and done.
