[ESPN / MacMahon] Sources say Rockets do have interest in a Russell Westbrook deal

I'm so down for this. Westbrook kind of stinks but it's basically a foregone conclusion that we won't get past LAC and probably Denver out West.

This would be a huge hail mary but it will be primetime, cant-miss entertainment.

 

Fireworks has to explode sometimes, it can't be locked up. It would suck if it implodes.

I would like Westbrook in the team..in my opinion Rockets as it is will not win championship..if Westbrook can be handled properly it will be very interesting.

Wouldn't be surprised by this. One has to think part of the goal has to be keeping James happy - Harden and Russ are notoriously noted as being very close friends, growing up together, etc. Given how many superstars are demanding out of their teams, not an unreasonable worry, especially if CP3 and he are not on the best terms...

 

CP3 is better than Russ, declining at the same rate (or less) and has a shorter contract. I’d only consider a swap if OKC sent picks.

A straight swap or giving up assets is a total Tilman move. Hopefully Presti saves Tilman from himself and just bends Riley over.

It doesn't have to necessarily be Tucker at 5, and of course, WB won't be guarding 4's, but if we can get a stretch 5 to run with WB, our offense could potentially still run smoothly as we'd still be running a 4 out system like we are currently.

We could also have it to where Paul/Harden/WB only share a total of like 12-15 minutes together, first 4 to 5 minutes of the game, first 4 to 5 minutes of the 2nd half, and last 4 to 5 minutes of the game.

I hate WB's game, I don't like the fit at all. With that being said, the man still has a lot of talent, and if MDA could find some way to mesh the team properly on offense, he could be the piece to put us over the top.
