The victimhood thing is key actually. This is why a lot of narratives that come from the right nowadays are about white victimhood. Whether it be some silly white genocide lie or about how the liberals despise straight white men and their army of SJWs will come to destroy you, it is all about being a victim and fighting back. That victimhood is also present in Antifa certainly and the difference is...antifa has no power players that are even sympathetic to their cause because they are quite literally anarchists. Even if someone on the right believes that Democrats today are flirting with Socialism, socialism is opposed to anarchy, it is all about giving the state more power, so the goals of Antifa don't even align with the goals of any democratic leader, even the most left of them. The goals of white supremacists DO align with the goals of plenty of Republicans who have made it very clear that this country must remain a white majority. They will build walls and change laws if they must, but they have been pretty clear that this is their stated goals, so they've found something of an ally with white supremacy. It's not even that they believe in their ideology but they use their talking points and propaganda enough for it to not matter.
Thinking of prominent supporters of Antifa type of movements past and present, nobody really comes to mind more than Rage Against the Machine members Tom Morello and Zach DeLaRocha. DeLaRocha actually having ties to activist groups. Question for you and other Antifa alarmists on the Right would be to get your thoughts on RATM? Do you find their music to be evil? Do you think if they were still playing today if Bill Barr and the DOJ should take action with artists that inspire and mobilize these leftist groups to action? Morello has called his music the soundtrack to movements like Antifa and praises them as hero’s. If Antifa must be stopped using the power of the state, why wouldn’t artists like RATM and prophets of Rage since they help inspire and mobilize these groups through their music?
Seriously? What the hell? So intentionally sending someone to the hospital and terrorizing a woman and her child is not evil? I consider those acts of terror pure evil. At least I got you to inappropriate and uncalled for. I hope illegal would be another way you would classify it. If so I hope you would be in favor finding and prosecuting those responsible.
And I hope you learn that Antifa as a issue is a drop in the bucket compared to the issue of white nationalism and supremacy in this country.
No, I have never worried about Antifa so I understand that point. I guess my real reaction is that people appear to be arguing past each other. Your earlier post that I responded to was itself in fact a response to a post discussing whether Antifa was "evil" which I equate with "bad." So, I get that you and others may be arguing about whether Antifa is prevalent and whether it is an actual threat to society. And, I think it is an excellent point to raise and discuss. But, Crash's more recent posts are focused on whether Antifa is "bad" not whether they are in any way equal in "badness" to other demonstrably worse groups.
Then you have a very generous definition of “evil” at best and at worst, you are intentionally making a group seem worse than they actually are.
So we will continue to disagree on that point but do we agree on the part about the acts of terror being illegal and the responsible parties should be arrested and prosecuted?
I honestly believe that @crash5179 doesn't have any genuine concern over Antifa and is just trying to find something equivalent to white supremacy in liberal circles. It's a common tactic on the right called concern trolling.
Seems like a big point, but naturally people who commit crimes should be punished. However “law and order” has become a very subjective thing with this administration.
I think there is evidence here he is just repeating nonsense from whatever propaganda he consumes on social media and other websites. Crash’s intentions are less interesting to me than the originators of the content he is trafficking. He’s trying to have the argument both ways and seem objective. The content creators are not and have motives we have to call out. The goal is to mobilize support for state sanctioned policing of leftist activist groups. The posters here have even signaled that support here when they post responses like “something has to be done” etc etc. luckily I don’t think it’s entirely a mainstream opinion right now and really just looks to be a hard right push via social and foxnews nighttime white nationalist hosts like Tucker and Ingram.
That’s a different topic but I’ll bite. In what way has law and order become any more subjective than pre-Trump era?
I honestly don't know if @crash5179 is just a victim of propaganda or is concern trolling. If you are Inca right wing bubble in terms of media consumption from social media to YouTube, you are bombarded with fake antifa accounts. https://www.nationalobserver.com/20...er-accounts-spread-disinformation-fourth-july
I'll start! Example 1: pardoning a sheriff before he even was sentenced which is unprecidented who violated court orders to cease and desist practices that violated the 4th amendment just because he was politically aligned with him.
Yea, that’s the underlining current that can dangerously drag a larger populace to support or allow what they don’t normally allow, from outright political cheating and lies to inhuman treatment of children. All justifiable to protect from being victimized.
Backing away from right wing terrorism that has gotten noticeably worse. “Fine people on both sides” illustrates this point, as the Trump admin relies on people sympathize to right wing terrorism/militias. Obviously the whole congress vs executive power that’s currently happening is a thing too. Imagine if Obama or Hillary acted the way the Trump admin is.... the right would be poo pooing in their pants.
How do you feel about what our administration is doing to children and families at the border? Justified evil?
