Feigen is very good at what he does. He tends to avoid opinions in his articles and he doesn’t go overboard kissing ass. He does however receive intel from the Rockets and write an article or a tweet on what is happening. For example, Feigen said the chances of getting Butler were likely less than 50% but the Rockets felt confident.

What exactly do you want? There isn’t much out there. If the Rockets add Iguodala and McGee and sign another free agent like Roberts or Carter; this will likely be the best team they have had... certainly the deepest.

A confident GM who goes for depth at all cost and is not on his knees praying for Iggy to land on his lap. This constant excuse that the market is almost dried up just tells me that Morey had no plan B aside from some names he’d like and the fact that McGee is on it, speaks volumes. I really wonder if Morey uses data exclusively or just lost his touch.

I’d swap a first for one of the Phoenix 2nd rounders they just picked up. Or heck, their own 2nds.

One thing... it looks like they have a pretty full roster as it is. It’s also fairly heavy on big wings (not even counting Iggy!)

Morant / Wright (RFA) / Melton
Grayson Allen / CJ Miles / Dillon Brooks
Josh Jackson / S. Hill / Kyle Anderson
    JJJ / Clarke / Crowder
    JV / Plumlee

Assuming they resign Delon Wright (who I believe they really like), and assuming they cut Avery Bradley (partial guarantee), they only have one roster slot (currently occupied by Iggy). They’ve got Bruno Caboclo and Ivan Rabb also under contract... depending on how much they like them, they may be looking for more moves.

If Dallas offers picks to take Iggy into their open cap space (inverting what Memphis got paid to do)... that would be pretty hilarious.

Well this could be the teams rotation for 2020 run

    Clint/McGee
    Tucker/Green
    Gordon/Iggy
    Harden/Rivers
    Paul/Rivers

I don’t mind that especially if Leonard goes back to Toronto. It is also Paramount that Paul plays better then last season and we see more ball and body movement. With Green and Iggy our defense will significantly improve

Rather do that deal plus 2 firsts for Aaron Gordon.

Better yet 3 team trade with BOS:

    Celtics: Capela

Magic: Smart, EGo, Rockets 1st, Celtics 2nd

    Rockets: AG, Robert Williams

SnT Shump + 1st round pick for Iggy. Sign Javale or Noah to vet min.

    Paul/Rivers
    Harden/Green
    Iggy/House
    AG/Tucker/Clark
    Noah/RWilliams/Hartenstein

That's 5 starters with high IQ, ability to create and score. Tucker, Rivers & House would be great depth.

Great mix of youth, length and vet savvy.

Keep in mind, an added benefit and potentially significant one, is trading for Iggy keeps him away from the Lakers. Who have to be considered our greatest threat out west.

    Not even close.
Iggy has more left than JJ did.

He is 36. I can’t even believe we’re considering him, it’s not like we’re a young up and coming team that needs a vet. This team is literally turning into a nursing home.

He’s a smart player but giving up any 1st rounder to be maybe (injury waiting to happen) minimally better, is desperate, which actually seems to fit the FO’s personality right now.

The Rockets would like to add Iguodala and McGee and likely another minimum veteran.

That would give the Rockets a pretty deep team.

    Capela/McGee
    Tucker/Clark
    Iguodala/House
    Harden/Gordon/Green
    Paul/Rivers

That would give the Rockets good depth. The veteran free agent would likely be a long swing that could cover 2-4.

The Rockets need depth because Paul, Tucker and Iguodala (hypothetically) all will need their minutes cut to 30 or less. So players like Rivers and House could end up with over 30 minutes a game. House will play a lot of PF.

They are just trying to screw the Lakers now, preventing him from joining.

I would be astonished if Iggy were to start for the upcoming season given his injury history and mileage/age.

I think he would make them more than minimally better. His age is a concern but he doesn’t rely on his athleticism like he did years ago, he largely relies on his positioning and intelligence. Adding Iguodala would be mostly for the end of games and the playoffs. He is an elite defender.

I personally would feel more comfortable in the playoffs poise-wise and defensively with Harden, Paul, Tucker and Iguodala on the floor... defensively that is nasty.

Could see him starting and ending games. 17-20 minutes regular season average so fresh for post season.

I would be happy with either. Both are very good defenders that have the ability to cover almost anyone on the floor. They both struggle shooting 3’s but have room to improve.

I don’t know the current medical condition of Mbah Moute, but if he can pass a physical, he would be an excellent choice.

Having Paul/Harden/Moute/Tucker/Iguodala on the floor together would be an absolute nightmare defensively for other teams.

He may not, Gordon or House could start. If healthy, Iguodala will be on the court at the end of games. I suspect he would play 20-25 minutes a night.
