Kawhi is not a dick so there’s that. He might just say what he’s going to get in LA and ask Raptors what else they can accommodate.

For all the talk about superteams and how the NBA is getting ruined, in the last 10 years (when we had a Miami superteam for 4 years and GS for several more), 7 different NBA teams have won titles. That's more than in any other decade since the 70's.

People act like the bulls didn’t win 6 titles in the 90s and the Lakers didn’t win 5 titles in the 80s

That and maybe he needs to clean out his place in Toronto and take everything to LA

I would take that over him going to the Lakers right now. It may be inevitable, but it would be nice to get a year first as Lebron ages.

That’s all I want. One year of competitive balance and then whatever in 2020.

In the 21 years Jordan retired there have been 9 champions. The last 10 years is an interesting cutoff because it grabs some transition years.

Another way to look at it is that 6 of the last 10 champions have been either a Lebron super team or the Warriors.

    https://deanblundell.com/sports/nba/raptors/breaking-kawhi-leonard-signing-with-the-raptors/

    It’s over.

Kawhi is signing a 2 year deal (1+1) for 70 mil.

    Never question me again.

What a time to be alive.

BTW TSN put the cp24 chopper in the air for this based on inside information about Kawhi signing. Total dirty pool but I love it."

Isn't that exactly what Dwight did with LA when he signed with us? And the media tried to spin it as Dwight flip flopping and wanting to re-sign with the Lakers in a change of heart?

But this is pretty low if you look at it in historical context.

From 1980-1988, 8 out of 9 champions were LA or Boston.
From 1991-1998, all 8 champions were Jordan or Olajuwon.
From 1999-2010, 9 out of 12 champions were the Lakers or Spurs.

6 out of 10 (or 3 out of 5 the last 5 years) is actually quite a bit of parity by NBA standards, and that doesn't even consider that those 1 of those Lebron titles was a totally different team.

Sure but player movement didn’t exist really in those years.

It’s pretty stunning that player movement hasn’t led to more real parity.

And on top of that, batting two season injuries we’d have the warriors capture another title.

Kawhi Leonard will be the hero that every fan outside of Miami, LA, and Oakland needs if he heads back to Toronto.
