“There’s not a market for him,” Wojnarowski said. “I think he hoped a big-market team would strike out, have cap space — he could get a one-year, $12, $15 $18, $20 million dollar deal. That’s not happening. “The mid-level exception he got in Golden State last year? I don’t think that’s there for him.” Apparently today there are San Antonio rumors, but is there a less Spurs-y player in the league than Boogie?? If he somehow goes back to GS for the minimum, this board is going to lose its sh--.
It's pretty sad. I just don't think he proved much last year. There will always be flashes of his great skills and instincts, but (a) the game is moving away from his skill set so quickly, and (b) he really looks impaired by that injury, especially for lateral movement and, you know, jumping.
They have Willie Stein.......who was the successor on the Kings team. Would be weird to have them both on the team. Both on a minimum deal.
Don't feel bad for him at all - his signing with the Warriors last year was essentially a big middle finger to the rest of the league for not getting a max offer. It was spun as a way to rehab his image because 'who doesn't love a winner?' but let's be honest - spitefully going to a team that everyone had already been complaining about for a consolidation of all star talent(who didn't even pursue him) only strengthened the narrative that has dogged him his whole career that he is petulant and self serving.
don't really care. he turned down a ton of guaranteed money because he felt like he could say FU to the league and everyone else later. go to GS, win a ship and at the same time up his value. Now he's even more exposed and will never get close to that money again. he's at the point where he hopes someone even just takes a chance on him. Ouch
Damn, he's going to end up with the Knicks or Grizzlies or some **** and be an afterthought for the rest of his career. Who would have thought that just 18 months ago?
His plan backfired, should of taken the Pelicans offer. The league is passing him by and after the injury he is too slow to even try to keep up.
At this point its just a matter of waiting to see what Kawhi gets. Maybe the Knicks want to blow a ton of money too? Look, the warriors hadn't lost a championship with Durant before Boogie gets there, now, boogie is there, the warriors lose and Durant leaves. Coincidence?
He should have gone to the Celtics who only had Kanter. Their media hype machine would have raised his perceived value and Stevens would put him in a position to succeed and against lesser competition in the East. Now the Cs have signed 4 other centers. If he goes to the Lakers just to be an afterthought, it just shows that he is an idiot who never learns. And when something goes wrong, the media and fans, will first blame him because big men are always the easier target.
Yup. Unless you think Boogie hurt KD and Klay in the playoffs AND convinced Dray to call KD a b**** that the team didn't need.
I'm not so sure he didn't hurt KD. Hell, maybe he dressed as a warrior doctor and convinced KD he couldn't get hurt worse just to get KD back sooner.
Totally agree. The guy couldn’t move, he was super slow and opposing teams totally took advantage of his inability to defend.
