Donnie promised there would be brand new Sherman tanks present. If he can keep that promise, I will vote Donnie 2020.
He's upping his "I could shoot a guy" to "I could run over a crowd with a tank and not lose any voters"
CNN reliably puts an opinion as their top headline right now: "Trump's July 4 extravaganza sets a political trap" 1) This not nearly the most important story for a headline. 2) It's just a f'ing opinion they want to push. (I think the tank idea is stupid OK? But CNN is still very slanted, like Fox and MSNBC.)
Trumps attempt at selling autocracy to his voters and the message he’s sending to the world in the process is the biggest single story of his presidency. The 2020 election is a choice of Democracy. And a slight victory won’t secure Democracy because of what he’s doing to consolidate power and bend the will of the military leadership who will be ordered to the White House if he loses. I damn well guarantee that will happen. The Democrat will have to win in a landslide to get him out of office. So yeah... what Trump is telling us via warning signs like this stupid parade is pretty clear. This is like selling autocracy like an infomercial for Trump steaks. CNN should have an opinion about this and as long as we still have first amendment rights, CNN and other outlets have the duty to call it for what it is. A Facist Time Share pitch.
Also, I think the tanks rolling into the capital for the first time the day before Independence adds weight to the newsworthiness.
July 4th is a special time in DC. The city's handling of it and production of events has always been a real treat. It's takes a special type of narcissist to just streamroll that. Went down to the Lincoln last weekend to see some friends who were performing as part of a dance troupe. The scaffolding for the set of Donald's event pushed our friends off their permitted exhibit spot. Lame.
Oh CNN has plenty of opinions all right. I'll go to the front page right now and list off opinions, because some posters don't seem to know the difference between opinions and news: Opinions being pushed on the front page of CNN at this moment: Analysis: Trump's July 4 extravaganza sets a political trap Analysis: Trump's July 4 spectacle just keeps getting more absurd Opinion: The 4th of July isn't a MAGA rally Chris Cuomo rips Trump's Independence Day plans • Opinion: US women's soccer team's message See awkward moment between Ivanka Trump and Pompeo Opinion: Consequences of US global abortion policy Skaggs death just makes no sense There is a rottenness at heart of Border Patrol Biden's busing defense has a dark meaning HUD hire spotlights Trump's defining failure New-look Europe is having a nightmare first week Analysis: Bernie Sanders 2020 is in big trouble Anderson Cooper pokes fun at Trump's complaint on Fox News Ivanka Trump's awkward moment sparks hilarious memes What the 10 highest-grossing movies of all time say about America
For someone who apparently didn’t vote for Trump you sure do get defensive of him if heaven forbid there is an “opinion” that doesn’t fit a positive spin to propagate on his behalf. Who cares about CNN? Go watch FoxNews and live in your bubble if CNN offends you. CNN is an outlet that nobody really is in love with so give your viewership to other outlets instead of b****ing about it to support Trumps agenda to shape media messaging on behalf of the state. Trump and co. understand what they are doing. The GOP machine runs a master class at shaping narrative as vile and destructive as it typically is to our society. They realize that CNN is a massive opportunity for them given how poorly run they are with weak leadership and the corporate interests at the top they can leverage. They are susceptible to coercion from the state, and you are doing your part to help drive that push the narrative that they need to coerce that network on behalf of your supreme leader if you keep doing Trumps bidding here. Criticize CNN if you want, but the way you are doing it screams “I want them to not report the negatives of the Trump/GOP regime”. If you want to convince people you really are an fair independent voice who voted Dem before and could still vote Dem “if only”, you are failing miserably at that. I see no indication that you are the independent fair minded person you have tried to sell people you are before to try and garnish debate credibility. I hope I’m wrong here and you just watch too much FoxNews, but signs are you are basically a troll.
