Imagine a Rockets-Sixers finals. Embiid and Horford in the frontcourt. We exploit one of them in a pick and roll EVERY SINGLE TIME. Harden either gets the switch and goes to work or gets a great shot for someone else. are we too quick then?
this new starting 5 for the sixers with horford and richardson is a lot more balanced and better defensively. they don't have a overcrowd of guys who want to the ball anymore and guy who dont mind doing the little things you need around your core. I like it actually. might have cost them a ton but oh well reddick sucks come playoff time and is bad defensively. lose butler but get 2 quality players.
what quickness? the rockets play one of the slowest paces in the league. nobody on the team is even quick besides maybe rivers who is still unsigned btw
Interesting move for the Sixers. Horford is a winner, and he probably helps them a lot this year. Paying that sort of money for his age 35 and 36 seasons will look like a mistake in 4 years if they don't win a title in the next 2. Sort of the Sixers' version of the Chris Paul contract. In general if your team has a top 10 player and a supporting cast I'm in favor of all-in moves. I would have done the same if I were Philly. Embiid-Horford-Harris might be a little too big a front line to consistently play together comfortably, but then again Horford has always been comfortable as a 4 with a bigger guy so the fit questions are more on Harris than anything.
Harris and Richardson are good enough shooters to space the floor. Hell, Horford's a career 37% three point shooter too. And they kept Mike Scott. Not sure why you think they'll have trouble keeping defenses honest.
