lets spin this another way.. Im curious what people think we need to do to beat this team? dump it down to Yao is too simple. I think the best way to beat this team is.. 1. feed Yao the ball where he wants it 2. ball movement (faster we move the ball around the better) 3. we need to attack the basket (like Manu did to us) 4. double team Duncan - make his teammates beat us defensively we have usually done a godo job against this team but had trouble scoring against them. however, it looks like our offense has really picked up lately.. and I hope we can continue this surge. J
I put down $$$ to Rockets for this one. i see Yao can do it after the larkers game and the all star game, eventhought we lost to Dallas , but our big man gains a lot of confidence and he knwos he can do it. and it's time for him to match another big man, is that what he wants ?
this would be a huge win since it seems we can never beat this team which is very similar to our woes against dallas. however i think that if we get a solid game from our backcourt then we will win this game because when we get a solid game from our backcourt (getting the ball to yao and MO, hitting open shots, and not turning the ball over) then our big frontcourt usually shines as well
i really hope we put yao on duncan more this game he is the only one who can defend him somewhat but then again that risks putting yao in foul trouble too...i dunno i just want the rockets to play hard and be fighting for the game in the 4th quarter

Result of game against Spurs depends on how ROX' guards and PF play. YAO may neutralize TD a little bit. Also YAO may defend Parker. But Some guys should fight for rebounds. JJ may be freezed by Bowen. CAT and SF3 are supposed to stand out, if ROX want to win. But we really cannot expect CAT and SF3 too much. If JVG would run MJ and SF3 on the court this game, ROX would be dead.

Like a loss to Marvs, this is a loss I can accept. Indeed, I hope we can save some energy to beat cavaliers. I prefer a sure win over a heart-broken loss after another.
I understand a lot of the sentiment here about letting up a little against SA to ensure we beat Cleveland, but the Cavs are playing pretty well right now. That's no guaranteed W. Let up tomorrow and we could still lose against 'bron. Plus I think we need Yao more against SA than against the Cavs. Unlike with Dallas, who give us structural fits, our problem with the Spurs has been execution and turnovers. If we can control the ball and get Yao more shots, and if Yao has something left in the tank, we can win.
I never predicted before but I this time I say give me a WIN over the Spurs baby! I am the king of Vegas!
I think we are pretty much locked up for a playoff spot. 6, 7, or 8 doesn't matter that much IMO (yes, even against Mavs or Kings). Playoffs are just different. So I say don't be concerned too much about saving legs or whatever, just go out and play hard everytime.
We may win this game...I think the Spurs are content beating us 3 out of 4 times this year, they'll slack off a little on Tuesday...hopefully.
Only way to beat this team is to bench Mobley. He was doing well in last game, you know what he is going to do next. Stev will do just fine.
