these season ending injuries are probably playing a factor. they'd rather lock themselves up for multi seasons rather than just hanging on for a year

Maybe everybody will go bat **** crazy like they did with Deng/Mozgof and give our ape **** contracts.

Before we know it CP3 gonna be looking like a steal at 45 mill when Barnes and Bojan Bogdanovic are making 30 mill per.

If my calculations are correct, they have only $42 million in committed salaries for next year, excluding Barnes and their cap holds. Let's say Barnes re-signs for 4 years $72 million (e.g. $18 million a year), they are still only at $60 million spread across 8 players. They could be players in absorbing bad contracts for future picks once they renounce all of their free agents.

I think the Kings would've prefered to have him another season just to see how he would've fit with the rest of the core and to see how much money he was worth, now i'm not sure, there's a risk they end up overpaying him...i can see the Kings offer him a 40/45M x3 years deal, but i'm not sure he will settle for that...a 80M for 4 years sound like an overpay which may not be necessary for them.

With all of the teams with cap room I guess Barnes is seeing if he can grab a seat on one of those teams that misses out on their primary target.

If a team targets Tobias Harris and wiffs...can just look at Harrison Barnes etc.

He will probably go back to GS on a vet minimum just because its what folks like to do apparently.

People forget he was a major cog on the Warriors for their first championship and their 73 win team. He was a part of the original lineup of death. Fifth best player in that lineup. If he's your fifth best, you got yourself a strong five.

    LOL

Kings Already Showing Remorse Over Harrison Barnes' Four-Year, $88M Deal

The Sacramento Kings have already begun to express some remorse over the four-year, $88 million deal they signed Harrison Barnes to this offseason, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The Kings acquired Barnes from the Dallas Mavericks at the trade deadline.

Barnes declined his $25.1 million player option with the Kings and quickly agreed to his new contract.

The Kings are now contending with potential new deals for Buddy Hield and Bogdan Bogdanovic, while De'Aaron Fox becomes extension eligible in 2020.

That's basically another Ryan Anderson contract, not sure what they were thinking, especially since they knew they had Bogdan and Hield close to being free agents...and they also gave Joseph 12M per season lol, only for two years, but still horrible.

It's amazing to me that people in that position have so little foresight. How did they not see this coming? We all saw it coming the second they signed Barnes to that deal.
