I listened to the podcast and thought it was very interesting. Gilbert brought out great points on how Giannis actually didn't improve much from what he did last year, the record was a product of a great system and supporting players thriving in it. I could see how they correlated Harden's season to the year Kobe didn't win it. It will be more interesting if the NBAPA do their awards and Harden is voted MVP.

I do agree that media alone should not have the ability to vote for end of the year awards.

Brick Freak winning over Harden was an absolute joke...the media showed their stupidity once again

the real MVP for the Bucks was Coach Bud...if he didn’t come along Milwaukee would’ve been the same weak EC team fighting for a bottom seed in the playoffs that they’d always been

    what a joke...

Giannis actually did improve from last year but not by much if any. Only reason he got the MVP is because that’s what the media pushed from the start of the season.
Gil is 1000% correct, Giannis won the MVP mainly because his TEAM helped him get it and not because he was the “most valuable player”.
Harden improved across the board as well but he improved significantly. Harden had such a historic season last year that even the “clown show” (media) thought that there was no way he could get better and he did. But of course that wasn’t enough to win the MVP yet again because the clown show had already set up their narrative as to who should win the MVP.

Every year we try to determine what the MVP is supposed to be. Sometimes it's the best player on the best team. Sometimes it's a guy who did a weird thing with his stats on a crappy team. The media keeps it vague so they can bend it to fit whatever narrative they need.

Agree that we need another voice in the vote. Also agree that it can't be the fans.

Coaching system and players surrounding giannis made a huge leap forward

While coach and players surrounding hardens made a huge leap backward
