Lol yeah much of the above. When I make a reference that I feel like is for young people (like me, 32) but then an actual young person (age 22 or so) has no idea what I'm talking about.
When I saw Cavan Biggio, Vladimir Guerrero Jr and Fernando Tatis Jr having major league at bats this year.
Oh and my daughter (5 year old) laughed when I asked for my "cellphone" because she didn't understand what the "cell" part meant.
Same, but from my "little" cousins. I quote little because they're now freshman or sophomore college or seniors in HS. By still thinking of them as "little", it makes me feel old. I would say it's been since last year, I've felt like, eff it, I'm old.
This. When I got to that age when I was getting older than pro athletes. It's just weird when growing up you look at these guys as "grown ups" then suddenly they become kids. Other signs: - The recovery time after a night of drinking. Instead of some extra sleep and gatorade doing the trick, it takes the entirety of my weekend to feel normal again. - No longer having any interest whatsoever in going to noisy, crowded places on weekend nights - Prioritizing getting things done early in the morning (haircuts, gym, grocery shopping) rather than sleeping in - .....and losing a s*** ton of hair
When you make a pop culture reference and the other person didn't remember it in the reboot. Which reboot? Trick question to filter out the geezers
When I heard who the musical guest was going to be on SNL one week and I, literally, had never heard of them. I'd seen musical guests whose music I had never heard, but I was at least aware of them. I had never even heard this bands name before. It was Vampire Weekend. That was March 2008. I was 40. Vampire Weekend sucks. I am old.
When you see sons of NBA players you watched as a teenager/20s enter the league themselves. When all you want to do on the weekend is chill. Course that's been me my whole life. Oh, and a lot of the others above.
When I came back here today after many years, reset my password, and realized it was around 20 years ago that I first posted here.
Egads, I had forgotten that, um, thing. The credits are hilarious on youtube. Songwriting credited to Bob Dylan. Yeah, not exactly the same forever young song.
