You may hate them but they sell a lot of those jerseys. I’ve seen tons on the street and at games. Re-releases sell for $150
I'm sure there's nostalgia there for some...to me it represents moving away from the color scheme they had been since 1976...Rockets red...making blue the primary color and employing a cartoonish logo. To be fair, lots of teams did that in the mid to late 90's...most corrected it, though, moving back to more logos and colors that were more traditional and simple. The timing of the Rockets change from red to blue...immediately on the heels of winning back to back titles...prompted a lot of the backlash. I don't think I would have ever liked them regardless, because to me the Rockets ARE red. But doing that immediately after winning the only rings in franchise history is one of the most horrible sports branding decisions I think was ever made...even though I realize the decision was made before they won a ring.
If they place that abomination of a logo on their jerseys, any jersey... That thing is ****ing hideous.
Three jerseys reveal, three redesigns from the past....with modern feels. I'm coppin' the blue stripes.
No, one classic re-design. Two basically the same we have now with change of font. I am expecting a huge disappointment, lots of mocking and again wondering how unprofessionally childlike these designs are.
Absolutely love this one!!!!!!! But also love the current black version, and the gray version (sleeves or no sleeves) too.
I’m just talking about the jerseys that will be changed. Houston will still rock the Black and Red jerseys. Our jersey options will be: White (home) Red (away) Black (earned) Black (statement) New jersey
The pinstripes are unbelievably bad jerseys. Nostalgia doesn’t fix that. Adidas did a nice job with the Harden shoes built on that theme so MAYBE something can be done to make those things look nice but I’m dubious.
