Lower angle on the above pic. Also look at their sholders. Yao looks 7'5". It's probably a marketing thing. Just like Charles Barkey and Hakeem Olajuwon. Barkley listed at 6'6" but was 6'4" Hakeem listed at 7'0" but was 6'10"
it's funny looking at both of those pictures. the one from last year yao is like "okay... i'll have fun with this picture". the one from this year he's looks completely annoyed. he's like "bltch, how dare you ask me to stand next to this freak show? is there any comparison?"
Is it funny Anyway, who's taller is pointless. What more impotant is Yao has amazing skills that Bladley for sure.
when people started calling Yao the "tallest player in the NBA", Bradley got all defensive and huffy about it. I remember he was quoted as saying something like, "I don't care how tall he is, I'm taller." So naturally whenever they have their picture taken together now Bradley always tilts his head up and fixes his posture to appear taller.
The only way tpo clear this up is not tomuse last years pictures bt to have them both measured in their barefeet by the NBA. Remember they started calling Yao Ming 7'6" after it was announced that he had grown. We will only know the truth if they are measured officially.
Yao rookie measurements for "standing upward reach, flat footed" was 9'7". It might be higher now. But one note....Bradley's arms are freaky long in relation to his body. Yao would still be a better player at 7'4" than Bradley at any height. I just think the NBA (maybe the Rockets management) wanted to say in their marketing campaign "the tallest player in the NBA." The NBA HAS been known to exaggerate...heh But there's no debating Yao's skills over Bradley. That's a given, regardless of height.
in the first picture Bradley is trying to look taller, but he's no Yao when it comes to talent, but that dude's pretty tall tough.
yeah bradley always stand super straight and tilts his head back a bit to make him seem taller cuz like he knows he has nothing else going for him against yao
If Bradley were as heavy as Yao, he'd compress the soles of his shoes as much as Yao, and they'd see eye to eye then. I think Bradley's arms look so long because there is no meat on the man at all. Same with his legs. I remember a broadcast last year that stated the wingspan of Yao and Bradley, I think Yao's was 7'6", and Bradley's was an inch more.
