lol the league helped manufacture this trade. tv ratings are going to be anchored w/ lebrontime once again
He'll make it anyway. He's not going to get $4m FOR TURNING DOWN $4m. lol It's a mob. Nothing else to it. If they don't get a 3rd star, they anchored Davis to a decaying Lebron.
Advantage Pelican. AD is great when he is healthy, he is a guarantee player that won't ever play a full season ever in his career. This trade reminds me of the Ricky Williams trade, New Orleans is going to rob the Lakers in the long-run. The Lakers are smart enough to keep Kuzma and dump Lonzo with his trash, but 3 first-round picks and 4th pick overall is going to be costly.
I don't see how this hurts the Rockets' chances anymore than the last 3 years. With the injuries to Durant and Thompson, the Lakers at best are replacing the Warriors as the top seed in the West, but with front court superstars in a league geared towards shooters. Warriors' shooting onslaught was far more deadly than anything LeBron and Davis do attacking the paint. I would love to see the Rockets go after Davis in the traditional Harden-Capela pick-n-roll game. Only the Warriors had the personnel to stop that. Step-back threes and Capela lobs are back on the menu, boys!
Cool. The first domino falls. Let's get this offseason rolling. A front-court dominated team in today's guard-driven league isn't as scary as people might think. I think of Davis as being overrated. Still looking forward to seeing this new team, though.
Lakers whole season depends on health Lebron is aging and AD has ALWAYS missed time due to injury . It will be interesting to see how they manage minutes to try and save them for the playoffs.
Do the Celtics want Capela now or are they rebuilding with the expected departure of Irving? Capela is only 25. He could be part of a rebuilding plan.
Hmm.. wonder how Capela has historically matched up against A.D. Looks like we need him again. Unless the Celtics are trigger-happy, the best moves we can make will be lateral. Still good enough for most West teams except for maybe Portland and of course GSW.
LBJ Davis Kuzma Add Butler or even Kemba and that's a top 4 team out West even with LBJ coasting in the regular season If Clippers add Kawhi, that's probably another top 4 team out West GSW will be there and thereabouts
The Rockets are small, undersized, and have troubles rebounding. Now they have to deal with a possible Lebron, Kuzma, AD frontcourt. Yikes.
Yep, assuming they acquire a top backcourt talent with the remaining cap space. This is how Harden must feel every year trying to come out of the West:
I guarantee you the Rockets would rather face this team in the playoffs than the nightmare Warriors teams we faced the last two seasons.
Smart Lakers given the small window they have with Bron. This was what they should have been thinking all along. And maybe they were. It will take them a good year to get to our level however. It won't just happen naturally. The third star will come eventually. And when he does they will pass us. If Golden State stays together the Lakers are not good enough. If the Warriors divide, then they are in legit position for a good 3 years me thinks. The Pelicans lost in the deal, but it was as good as they could possibly do to have an attempt at regeneration. The Rockets need to remember that if we overhaul, it will also take us a solid year to get on the same page. Big risk for Davis because LeBron is on the edge, but he still has it now.
Player Points Rebounds Assists Steals Blocks Clint Capela 8.7 9.0 0.8 0.4 1.9 Anthony Davis 23.1 11.0 2.3 1.5 1.9 Davis has absolutely **** on Capela in the h2h matchup. Deny it all you want, but he'll continue to do so if we ever meet in the playoffs. Regardless of what position he plays.
I can already see TIlman, Thaddeus, Daryl & Clint say "bring on the Lakers. We want the Lakers. We're excited to play the Lakers. We're obsessed with beating the Lakers." Then watch the Rockets [poop their big boy pants]
We will see. Regardless of what team gets what players, we need a starting PF and a backup C. We have for years.
