I haven't posted for a long time, but I can't keep quiet anymore ... watching yesterday's Lakers-Kings game, I kept asking myself: why do people think this Webber guy is all that? The Lakers have always struggled with teams that have good power forwards -- remember when we had Charles Barkley, that was the matchup that we always used against them. Granted, this year's Lakers are a different team, but to go 0-4 against them and throw the ball away like he did at the crucial moment of the game is inexcusable. To me it is quite clear, among the Western Conference forwards, talent wise Webber is not even close to Tim Duncan, Garnett, Dirk Nowitziky or even Rasheed Wallace, he is probably similar to Juwan Howard. I would really hesitate to give him the maximum salary.

If this playoff series was the first time I had significantly watched him play, then yes, I would be hesitant too. But keep in mind these past few seasons Webber has been the sole reason the Kings have been a playoff calibur team. He had a bad playoff seried, big deal. So did Garnett. So did Wallace. So did Nowitzki. Right now, the only PF better than Webb is Duncan.

No offense but Webber is playing hurt.

Webber is much better than Dirk, is better than Sheed and is as good as KG or Duncan.

C-Webb did not have a good series, but hey that happens. C-webb is still one of the top 5-10 players in the league.

I think Webb is a bit better than Dirk. I feel KG, Webber, Sheed & Duncan are about a wash. Any one is a great player. Webber had a bad series. If this series was the only good look I had at him I might agree not to get him too. I have seen him dominate. He will provide a much needed inside game for us. Comparing him to Howard is a joke though. 4chuckie is right about him bieng a top 10 player. Also lets not forget he played hurt in this series.

"Webber is playing hurt" = speculation.

Webber is NOT in Duncan's class.

Nevertheless, I've changed my mind now and want to go after him. Part of it is it seems there may be a chance to get him (I didn't think there was), most of it is that I hate the Lakers and want to beat the crap out of them NOW. SA is their only competition for the next few years, but Robinson is getting up there in age.

If the Rockets get Webber, they're immediately the 3rd-4th best team in the league before the season starts. Hopefully Francis and Mobley can pick up the slack for him in the playoffs. Get him!

He's no where near Tim Duncan.

I'd give Webber a nod over Garnett simply because Garnett plays a little "soft," and hasn't shown me that he can take over a game.

I'd give Webber a nod over Wallace because Webber's not the head-case Wallace is.

Nowitzky? Howard? Please. Maybe one day these guys will be marquis type players, but they hafta pay their dues first.

KG is definitely not soft. This is a guy that because of his frame should play at the three, but for the team he consistently guard the Webbers, Shaqs, and Brands of the league.

IMO KG, Duncan, and Webber are all in same class, but KG is the best, Duncan the second, and Webber the third.

Nowitzki, Howard, Wallace are all in a slightly lower class. Wallace would probably be in there with KG and co. if it weren't for his attitude.

"Webber is playing hurt" is not speculation, you can see him limping up the court. The guy had a pretty good series, if the rest of his teammates besides Turkgolu don't dissapear, the Kings are still playing.

Maybe Webber is hurt in his head, I don't know. It could be mental.

Webber is better then Wallace, imo, but a tier below Duncan And KG. Heck ,other then Shaq, KG would be the first guy I would pick to start a team around.

Webber being hurt isn't speculation because it was stated before the playoffs even started that both of Webber's ankles were injured. Anybody who looks at Webber and sees that he lacks the mobility, speed, and agility he had during the season, and sees him limp, and still think he's healthy are fooling themselves.
