Mind blown when I realized this event actually happened. I watched it thinking it was a fictional event. Makes it even more amazing. Only part I thought was off was the characters speaking in English the whole time.

I actually watched the first 45 minutes of this dumpster fire of a movie. I will recycle a review of "The Godfather III" I once read...

"It reeks like a burning house built out of chicken **** and stuffed with dead dogs."

Man, reading this makes me feel my years.

I remember it all happening but was young enough at the time not to appreciate just how bad it was. Hell, I probably didn't quite appreciate that until this miniseries (although the risk of the ginormous explosion when the core melted down to the runoff water was overplayed a little, from what I read; nevertheless, a very minor quibble).

I also remember reading "Riding the Iron Rooster" by Paul Theroux; as he traveled from Europe by train to China, and was getting sketchy reports over the BBC about a nuclear accident in Russia....first, "oh, it's nothing" from Russia, then other countries chiming in with, "OH, it's something, all right", and gradually realizing that something really, really, really bad had gone down.

I wonder how they feel about the deeply-researched book, Midnight in Chernobyl? "Nyet! Fake news!" Maybe the author will wake up with some polonium in the back of his throat.

I’ve read some Russian books. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Russian movie besides nightwatch.

I work at a Japanese company. We have people out at Fukushima right now, not exactly sure what they're doing (engineers I assume). From what I've heard, the government has been downplaying this too and that the disaster is much worse than what the public is being told.

I finally got around to starting this miniseries. It's fantastic and horrifying.

I just finished watching When They See Us, I wasn't ready for this.. I need something to lift my spirits.

Your spirits will be alright and lifted soon, you have one of the best, or the best Spirit 'Animal' or Avatar out there.
