To give the GARM a little bit of a good thing and a happier note. BSPN just notified me- On this date: Orlandos nightmare On June 7, 1995, Nick Anderson missed 4 straight free throws of Game 1 of NBA Finals, allowing the Rockets to force OT and win. I could not help but laugh and share with my CF brethren.
That was a young Magic team. I didn't expect Rockets to make all the way back to the finals that season and was actively rooting for the magic in the Eastern playoffs.
69.2% for his career before those missed free throws (regular season + playoffs). 60.9% for his career after.
I need to go back and review it but there were seasons where he was averaging between 40-55 on a few seasons, obviously this was 1 year after and the avg attempts might be different but I really think it messed with him. I mean the guy just needed 1 and put up ft's worse than Shaq (for 4 in a row).
You mean never the same player. He dropped off planet earth after that. Just magically disappeared. It scarred him for life. PS. I believe to this day that my black magic had something to do with Nick's FT's woes.
