You should check out Candiria, they are amazing. They play alot of hard metal, and every now and then throw in a little jazz, its awsome. Their website is down right now, but if you want to check out a cd, I recommend- Process of self-Development
That's some freaky stuff. Not the most sophisticated jazz I've ever heard but pretty damn complex and layered for a band that also plays seriously heavy music - two polar opposites from one another.
This is a ROCKETS board! We hate the Jazz! Oh wait...sorry, that's kind of a reflex whenever I see the word "Jazz"...
I've seen Candiria play live four times. They destroy. I haven't any idea how Carley Coma's pants stay on.
I'm guessing from your moniker that you might be a Bad Brains fan? For those might not know, Bad Brains were a jazz fusion band before they practically invented hardcore punk. You can hear the jazz influence along with the obvious dub/reggae on all their records. Sometimes they play so fast I think they break the "barriers" of rock and jazz. They just go to a different plane. One of the best rock bands ever, and my personal all-time fav.
Mr. Meowgi, you and little Danny LaRusso were on cable tonight. I have to watch the ending of that movie everytime it's on, can't help it.
eyeagainst: you may once check out the following artist: caspar brötzmann "koksofen" caspar brötzmann "mute massaker" crazy stuff.
My bands played with Candiria a couple of times. Carley Coma is the nicest person ever. Their new album is coming out soon.
I saw "Soul Brains" the last time they came through Houston with Candiria opening. Candiria was great as per, but "Soul Brains" was a pathetic shell of their heydey. Mainly H.R. Everybody gets old, I guess.
Yep, a couple of times. I must have seen you when you opened for Candiria since I've seen them each time they've come to Houston. Maybe the other time was opening for Sworn Enemy?
Yeah we opened for sworn ememy show too. We kinda sucked at the bad brains cause they drownded us in smoke
