It could be worse. Astros could win the next 7 and the Astros would be 17-20 in games outside of 10-game winning streaks. The horror. The horror.
Can I just say the new direction this thread has taken has made it my favorite thread on the board now.
The twins and the indians play a three game series. Indians are up tonight. Be nice to see the Indians take two out of three this week.
I still expect the Red Sox to make the playoffs this year but man they have been taking a beating as of late.
Been hoping Arlington would sweep Sox this series, but alas that didn't happen. I want my Arlington Bye in the ALDS.
Yankees are going all in. They are going to be stack once their guys get healthy. Pitching is still a weak spot for them though.
Yankees are looking very strong right now. Their line up is just nasty. Boston is having a hell of a time. If the Yankees can land a SP, they can end up being the favorite in the AL.
What's really crazy... had the Astros just won at minimum two games during that 7 game losing streak, they would have the best record in the AL. I still think it's key for them to have the best record in the AL by season's end. I don't like their chances playing the Yankees with them having home field advantage.
Houston is now tied with the Yankees for the most wins in the AL. Fangraphs has both of them finishing at 100 wins while Rotochamps has the Yankees projected to be at 101 and Houston at 100. I took a look at a few sites to get a better idea of the remaining SoS. Some of these sites are kind of all over the place.
Plenty of teams that are “ok” now could be terrible after the trade deadline... and plenty of the terrible teams may run off some wins because every team in baseball will win at least 50 games, no matter what.
Twins finally have the same amount of losses as the Astros. Would be nice to see Tampa Bay take a couple of games from the Yankees.
Except Baltimore. I don’t think they are winning 50. Which is amazing. Bc as bad is it got for us and it was terrible we still got to 51.
