what, no "republicans for kerry" options? ftr, i chose edwards, because there's at least a remote chance one of these guys could win, and kerry would be a disaster, imho, a return to the carter era.
Tried that once. Didn't work. Perhaps you'll recall me exposing the blatant voter fraud in the other poll. That Carter stuff is hilarious. If the best your guys can do is raise specters of Carter and Dukakis Kerry's gonna win by a lot more than the 12 points he's ahead right now. I voted Edwards because they're basically the same on the issues and Edwards is a hell of a lot more likeable. The funny thing about Republicans who like Edwards is that, while Edwards has a reputation for being more moderate than Kerry (much like Dean had a wrong reputation for being more liberal), the only place they meaningfully differ is on trade where Edwards has staked out the decidedly more liberal position. I like Edwards better than Kerry, but it really doesn't matter which one wins. Either one will beat Bush. He's making it easy.
I think that you're right on this. The biggest thing Kerry had going was that he was the candidate that had the best chance of beating Bush. Now that both look like they have a good shot it's likely to be dogfight to the finish. Edwards charisma, and Kerry's lack of it, might be the deciding factor.
I see you are still fuming from the embarrassment of finding out that the world didn't agree with you in your last attempt at a poll. Well, you know what that means! They must be lying! I hope you recognize the arrogance of this line of thinking.
I don't know, Batman. I mean, Carter was so bad. Don't you remember? 1. He would not trade arms for hostages. What a pansy! 2. He installed solar panels on the White House. What an outrage -- thank god that Oil-fearing righteous Ronnie took those pansy-ass hippy panels off within his first week in office! 3. He was responsible for the bad economy. While you can't link the economy to presidents after 1990, it was an established FACT in the late 1970's! Economics was different then. Wow. Now that I look over it. This Kerry=Carter equation has me pretty concerned. I'll have to look for at least one thing they have in common and then vote for GW Bush.
But dude, that's what's confusing about economics! If 9/11/01 is the cutoff, then you have to give that b*stard Slick Willy (ewwww!) credit for the 1990's boom. And no way did his administration have anything to do with that! So, yeah, 9-11-01 proly changed economics again, but dude, it was totally changed before that too.
i didn't say he'd lose because he's like carter, i said he'd be a bad president if he won because he's like carter. hey, i voted for cater in '76 (jon anderson in '80), but then, we all had our youthful indiscretions right?
I would be happy with either one as the Democratic candidate. From the very start of this campaign I wanted one of these to win. Now that it has gotten down to them, I will go with Kerry. I still believe that Edwards lack of experience will hurt him now than at any other time due to the wars we are fighting and the cloud of terrorism we are still under. When the general election gets started, Bush/Cheney will use their millions on painting Edwards as an " inexperienced trial lawyer", and the inexperienced part has some truth and could play to the "security moms" out there.
