Like the new supporting member look Buck. Has it been there and I'm becoming senile, or did it change?
I listen to it the day after I watch each episode. A common theme is that the host will say "did this really happen??" and each time he says that, the director says yes, it happened just as it did in the episode. The director has said that he didn't include several details because he didn't think people would buy it....even though they really happened! For instance, when those 3 guys were walking around in the water trying to find the release doors, they opened one door and the entire room was glowing. It wasn't included because he thought it was too sensational. That's how unbelievable this whole saga was.....portraying true events in the series wouldn't be believable to the audience. LOL...
No, this story was brought to us by George R R Martin. HBO has managed not to **** it up, YET! Just wait for season 3 and 4 though.
It's actually amazing that this series has seen the light of day. It could very well be the most important thing to ever hit television, and I am not kidding.
Listening to the podcast right this minute. The fact that this stuff is all real, and some if it even toned down, is pure insanity. I've probably said "what the ****" out loud 5 or 6 times since I started listening.
Fantastic execution on the series, start to finish. I'd love to see a series on all the nuclear testing that happened between the '60s-'90s. How much the human race has, and still does to this day carelessly mishandle nuclear considering its grave consequences is a fascinating and truly terrifying topic.
If you are interested in nuclear accidents, there is a guy on YouTube who does little histories of nuclear stuff including accidents. Here's a couple of examples: Here's his full nuclear playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeJkgZkJSc0T0PbDphJi5KIMCL-6uPHsd
Legasov, you're one of us. I can do anything I want with you. But what I want the most is for you to know that I know. You're not brave, you're not heroic, you're just a dying man who forgot himself. ... I know who I am, and I know what I've done. In a just world I would be shot for my lies. But not for this. Not for the truth. ... Scientists!!! And your idiot obsessions with reasons. When the bullet hits your skull what will it matter why!?! .... No one's getting shot, Legasov, the whole world saw you in Vienna, it would be embarrassing to shoot you now.
Exactly. This show should be up for many awards. Funny how it came along on the heels of GoT. This is the show people should have watched.
Always been fascinated with Chernobyl. When I heard HBO was doing a series on it, I was estatic. It did not disappoint. I'm reading Midnight in Chernobyl. As if the Chernobyl incident alone wasn't terrifying enough, try going down the Russain radioactive rabbit hole.
The only thing I don't like about this series is that it's ending so soon! The best thing about this series is how REAL it all is. If you listen to the podcast, you know that's no coincidence. Realism was the most important thing to the writer/director. Even in casting decisions. Look how similar the actors look to the real people: https://www.boredpanda.com/chernoby...oogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=organic
After listening to the first podcast I looked at the guys imdb. It’s interesting that he went from doing Scary Movie and The Hangover to this. He really changed it up haha
