Posted about it in the tv thread but I.D.I.O.T.

This is the new show from Glenn Howerton (Dennis from Always Sunny).

Pilot premiered last night. I found it hilarious from start to finish. Watched 2nd episode too, loved it. Dennis is (was?) my favorite Always Sunny character so I was excited for this and it did not disappoint at all.

Regular premiere is March 1st but first 3 episodes are available now on demand.

Sorry for digressing, but W.D.Y.M. by "I.D.I.O.T."?
I keep seeing this acronym recently but can't quite figure it out.

Not a big comedy watcher, but I'll check it out. If there arent any black people or sci/fi in it, I will have a tough time paying attention

Watched the first 3 episodes On Demand this morning. Pretty funny. I especially like the 2nd episode.

OSwalt as the principal and that one older female teacher are some good characters, I don't know if this show has traction from a ratings standpoint. The academic rival from his previous life feels like an extra detail to have to keep going back to, Howerton should have probably done a corporate workplace comedy instead, or even some PCU type thing at the character's original college.

I mostly agree. Howerton is killing the lead role. The potential for character development is huge.

I find the premise of using his students to help him psychologically dismantle his rival to be rife with comedic potential. Classic Dennis stuff. The character is basically Dennis 2.0 which, for me at least, is a big win.

I do worry that the demographic is a bit narrow. Needs to develop a quick cult following, which it might because of Always Sunny carryover.

Fingers crossed. I am already hungry for more episodes.

I like how they quickly shut down the "how is he going to get away with this" thoughts.

The insecure pushover principal in Patton Oswalt. The fierce teachers union rep in Niecy Nash. Perfect casting decisions.

Curious to see how far they will push things on a primetime network show.

I wish this show was getting more love. It is basically me if I were a school teacher.

Of course. If it's good (something I actually like) then it will be canceled. It was fun while it lasted. There were a lot of great moments in the movie.

I'm getting sick of all these decent shows being cancelled, whilst the utter trash running rampant on Netflix for example are still going strong.

The female student with thick glasses who always called him boss was so good.

Obviously nowhere near in the same stratosphere as IASIP, but pretty funny in it's own right.

And I developed a major crush on the accountant chick. God damn it.

That’s a shame. I liked the show but maybe Glenn will refocus on iasip and we’ll get a few more season out of him.
