Okay, seriously, BigBum, you're just being silly now.

In the first example, the number refers to experience. In the second, it refers to actual age. This makes exactly as much sense:

A coach who is 1 year old has never gone to the finals, and a coach with 68 years of coaching experience has also never gone to the finals.

If anybody in the NBA averaged 36ppg on a winning team, they’d be the MVP no questions asked.

I don't even think it should be close and no offense to the Greek Alphabet either ….. Harden had a historical season. Numbers not seen in two decades and unrivaled in the modern NBA. Greek Freak had a great season ….. but nothing historical. You wont be talking about his season in 5 , 10 or 20 years down the line.

Give it to the guy who lost 4 straight, becoming one of the 7% of teams that choked away a playoff series with a 2-0 lead.

    it depends when to vote

As Gianns cannot enter finals, MVP is Harden

We know it'll be Giannis. Enough media members have come out saying they voted for him. Stop hurting yourselves.

Honestly in most years I'd think Giannis would be deserving …. just not when put up against the season Harden had - It was historic , one we will talk about for 20 years or more.

Are we seriously going with playoff performance to support harden here?

Against the W's, he was demonstrably better than Giantess against the Raps. This site (including me) loves to dump on Harden but the numbers don't lie: despite having his eyes gouged, Harden was not the weak link, vs his season averages. Capela, CP3, and MDA were hot garbage, unfortunately.

Game 5 after durant was out and game 6 harden was bad. That was the time to have a big game. Basically choked away a chance with Durant out

He also shot really terribly against Utah

Harden could have been much better in games 5 and 6, just via the eye test.

Giantess in his last four losses vs. Raptors: 20.5 ppg on 43% shooting (for a guy who is supposed to mainly dunk), and 4.5 fouls per game.

Harden in his last two losses vs. Warriors: 33 ppg on 51% shooting (for a guy who takes step-back 3's on occasion), 6.5 dimes, 4 steals.

They each had excellent defense played against them, but the Raptors just erased Giantess. Harden was not erased.

James gotta be the only player that could lose MVP on 36/7/6. 61% TS. Solid winning % despite...Injured teammates. Tough conference. Much better team success than Westbrooks MVP season.

Giannis hasn't even fully developed his game yet. He has plenty of years to win MVPs. If Kawhi goes West... Giannis may get several more 1st seeds in the East. Voters are gonna have Giannis fatigue before he even has his best seasons.

Harden also had 6 turnovers in game 6 (including some down the stretch) and missed 5 free throws.

I'm not saying giannis was better, but if we're going playoffs then it should be Curry or kawhi

I am not sure but Yannis is never going to average 36 ppg...... that is just a crazy number and not who he is.

I might be wrong but it seems incredible for now.

Harden is the better scorer and better overall player but Giannis isn't going to walk up to the middle line and look disinterested. That is not who he is.

Harden is going to decline, humans are not immortal, that is going to happen one day.

Giannis is the younger player. The future belongs to him and players like Zion, RJ Barrett, Trae Yung, Morant.

I mostly agree on all those fronts, (though i wonder what Giannis's ceiling really is, especially after his weird pout-fest after game 6). I just don't think Giannis was more valuable in the 2018-2019 NBA season. And I think it's fair to criticize both of them for their playoff performance.

    Oh definitely!

I think Harden was slightly better in key games than Giannis, but not by much. And neither of them played to the level of Curry or Kawhi, especially in crunch times.
